Shop Fox D2057A Adjustable Mobile Base, Small Charcoal Grey

This works amazing on my Grizzley table saw. Heavy duty and easy to assemble. The trick is getting the 300 pound saw on the base. I tilted it and assembled the base under the saw one piece at a time. Very low to the ground. Highly recommend.

Very well built with solid cast wheels that roll quite nicely on concrete with a heavy load. Seems well made. The self locking nuts used for the stretchers seem unnecessary and make assembly more difficult. A small impact will speed things along. Just a note of interest the heavy duty model can be made much smaller if necessary by simply cutting down the stretchers. I wanted a 24X24 base and simply cut an inch off the long stretchers and all is well. The leveling screws seem ok but the way they are made two piece with a magnet holding them together seem strange and unnecessary but it does work. If height means anything to you it only raises your machine by #/4 of an inch. I feel its a great buy and a well built piece.

I have several of these. Cast iron/steel wheels roll easy on concrete. Well designed & constructed, rock solid and the best off-the-shelf machinery base available. No sagging, as all of my machines are mounted tightly into each corner (I recommend adding 1/4" thick stick-on pads to protect the paint of the machine base and remember to size the base to allow for the thickness of the pads). You might have to cut one or two bolts (or simply buy shorter metric hex head bolts locally) which may interfere with machinery access doors (example: lower door of Grizzly bandsaw). Plan B: drill a pilot hole through a bar and tap as necessary to get the bolt heads as low as possible, but only at places where there's interference. This is no big deal and slight modification of any universal base is to be expected, as machine configurations vary. Any self-respecting cabinetmaker will know how to do the minimal and simple metalwork modification. Positions the machine as low as possible to the floor. Caster mounting brackets are substantial and reinforced; casters and bracket positions can be oriented to suit your needs or preference. I have not encountered any situation in which the swivel casters cannot turn a full 360 degrees; just be mindful of bolt length and head up or down, where the casters bolt on. Updated 3/5/2015: Adding the Woodstock D2246A, 36-Inch Bars for D2058A, this base works perfectly with a very heavy Grizzly 12" Jointer #G0609 which weighs in at a hefty 875 pounds! Due to the slightly curved base of the jointer, the placement of the dust port and low-riding pulley access door, I had to shim up the machine with (2) 6" x 18 5/8" x 3/4" baltic birch plywood inserts. This is not the fault of the mobile base, just has to do with the shape of that particular jointer (and most likely also the Shop Fox 12" jointer, which is similar). Absolutely no sagging whatsoever, because by design this mobile base supports the entire weight of the machine at the corners. In fact, the only difference between the D2058A and the lighter duty D2057A are the casters: cast iron/steel wheels for the D2084A, tough plastic wheels for the D2057A. I recommend paying the extra $20 for the heavier duty version, which rolls easier on concrete floors. The plastic wheels will develop small flats if left in place for a long time and make rolling harder to do. Either type caster will hang up and drag on the floor if a chunk of wood gets in the way in my experience, so grab a broom & sweep before you move. Plastic wheels are OK if you prefer, except with heavier machines. This is my 3rd base, would definitely purchase a fourth.

I didn't have high expectations but this item really surprised me. The frame is HD enough to handle the quoted weight. The casters are low profile once bolted into the frame, giving lots of stability. If you decide to bolt your machine in, you'll have to drill your own holes, but then figure out how to lower it on to the fasters. There is almost no room to access even the nut from underneath.

This is a heavy duty base that comes with options for assembly. In my case with no help to tip a top heavy drill press I decided to take my drill press off my stand, build the mobile base, and reinstall my drill press. This base takes hours to assemble using basic tools. The instructions are clear. The first challenge was enough clearance to use a socket of some of the nuts used to assemble the wheels to the corners. The second was following the advice that the nuts for the rails being upside down from normal. I found if you thread each on in a normal direction a few turns, take it off, flip it and then use it they go on easily. The locked foot release is a bit different. There are two knobs that extend or retract a sliding magnetic shaft. They work well but are different than the foot pedal releases.

Bought this for G0806 bandsaw which weighs about 800 lbs. Had to cut 2 of the side bars to narrow it up a bit but fits the saw perfectly now. This is a pretty heavy duty base and works well for my application. Wouldn't hesitate buying another if I needed to mobilize any other machines

Great base at a much cheaper cost than the name brands. I put my 52" Harvey table saw on this base and it's holding up well. Harvey wants over $300 for their mobile base which is just insane. Took a gamble on this cheaper one, but it was worth it. Easy to put together, thought it takes a bit of time. Probably half an hour to tighten all the bolts and line everything up. But it's worth it for the price. Would get this again for other heavy machinery.

Purchased the mobile base with the extension for a Fox Shop table saw. I would definitely recommend arranging for a couple of friends to help you lift the saw on the base after you have built it. There are instructions for building the base around the saw which I was able to do with the help of my wife. Once finished this base is very sturdy and rolls great, it allows me to move around a 400+ pound cabinet table saw. If I had one complaint it would be that the stabilizing feet have very little clearance when raised up so if your shop floor isn't perfectly flat they can drag a little over a high spot.
