I came across this story on TikTok and found the name of the book in comments. After searching online for James story I wanted to know more about this little boy and his story.This book is beautifully and so tragically written by his mother. Her words haunt me from one page to another and James story breaks my heart as I turn each page.As a mom, this book is incredibly hard to read and I cannot begin to imagine how painful it was to write.All I can think is that James had such a wonderful short life full of love and with a mother that truly adored him and that is what makes this story so tragic.This is not an easy book to read and I have to put it down often to wipe the tears so I can continue reading.Everyone should know James story because his short life and beautiful spirit deserve to be known.I'll never understand how a person can take a life, especially of a child. It's heartbreaking.

The failure on all levels for this child and his family is beyond harrowing. I am haunted and broken. There is no justice that can exist for this, but worse still is that the small semblance that could have been provided was denied. The strength of this family is what this story tells, that and the beauty of James. Exuberant and lively, kind and spirited. The further tragedy of James being torn from such love and belonging is yet more abuse inflicted by the vile killers. Their privilege of being afforded even a day longer in this world, let alone a lifetime of anonymity free from those around them knowing their crimes, is beyond reason.

… I hope I never do. God, this woman has been through enough. This book was well worded. I’ve been hugging my kids tighter since reading this book. I’m so sorry for what Denise had to go through, over and over again.

I was 13 when this happened and I was devastated then hearing of what happened to sweet little James. Now that I’m older with children of my own the same age as James, I am extremely cautious where I go and with my children. Reading his mother’s story of love and anguish the day he went missing was heartbreaking. This book is wonderfully written and shared her story and the love she has for James. She’s an incredibly strong woman that continues to fight for justice that is so rightfully deserved.

My heart broke after hearing the James Bulger story a few years ago. I was interested in hearing the Mother's account of what happened, rather than what was in news articles. She wrote beautifully how much she loved James, her recollection of the day he was abducted was devastating. If you ever followed this case I would recommend this book to you. She wanted the world to know who James was, rather than just an image of a murdered boy. I especially loved her family pictures she shared of little James at the end of the book.

I have been following this story since I found out what happened to James, over 20 years ago. This is a really good book & has lots of photos of James & his family.

I admire her strength as a mother myself now I couldn't imagine going through this unbearable pain. Very touching read.

Wenn man im Internet liest, kommen nur Worte über die Täter. Immer in Verbindung. Ich wollte mehr über den kleinen Engel wissen und habe dieses Buch gekauft. Ich habe jetzt 100Seiten gelesen und glaube nicht, dass ich noch mehr verkrafte. Ich liege jetzt mit meinem Sohn, der in vier Wochen drei Jahre alt wird, im Bett und weiß nur, dass ich ihn nie, niemals, nie aus den Augen lassen werde. Nicht so lange er noch so klein ist.Ich wünsche Denise und Ihrer Familie alles Glück der Welt und werde den Kleinen James im Herzen behalten.
