The Art of Magic: The Gathering - Ixalan (5)

I picked up this book on a whim because I am starting a Dungeons and Dragons campaign set in Ixalan. I was surprised by exactly how valuable this book was to me. There is nice world-building with details about each faction, notable characters to work with, and details about the history of Ixalan. Some parts are more fleshed out than others, but I am super happy to have this as a resource. I love the aesthetic, the print quality is really really nice, and it was definitely worth what I paid for it. I may have to pick up the Art books for a couple of other planes that I am interested in.

All of the books from this series are astonishing. The imagery is surreal and the writing, simply brilliant. This book provides everything about the plane. It gives an amazing storyline that follows the card sets and a short history of the cards in the set, but the real power of the book is the images and the story, which makes up 95% of the book.You do not need to know anything about mtg to enjoy these wonderful books.Highly recommended for anyone that likes fantasy.

Since they first started coming out with these Art Books, I've been in love with them and this one is no different. There aren't a lot of supplemental products out there for Magic the Gathering fans, so these have been sorely needed. Enjoying the always amazing art in nice big splash pages allows you to see so much little detail you just can't get by squinting at the cards. Fans of the great artists of magic the gathering as well as those who love the lore, flavor and storyline should definitely check these out.

I only recently got back into Magic, and the Ixalan has been my favorite so far. I love the concept and art style so I just had to purchase this book, and I was just blown away by the sheer content this book holds. It goes through all the lore and characters for Ixalan and of course has beautiful illustrations. A must have for fans!!

As with most of the Art of Magic: The Gathering Artbooks, the artwork is stunning! They never seem to disappoint so far. I’ve collected at least three of them so far..

This is my fifth book of The Art of Magic the Gathering series. Yes, I have them all and can't wait for the next one, Dominaria, in July this year. I don't even play the TCG, but I am always a big fan of this type of art concepts books.The quality of the paper, the painting, color, story/info of different groups/gangs, everything is great about this book.

The art in this volume is good, but not as good as the other volumes as the book is "lacking" Depth and Contrast.

If you like MTG you should get this. If you like RPG's and fantasy worlds, you should get this. Also, if you like fantasy artworks you get this.Great paper quality, having full size version of some of the MTG cards is priceless and as a bonus you get some lore to read and kill some time.
