Sing and Slide: Old MacDonald Had a Farm

Love the book but I have bought it twice and the battery for the sound doesn't last very long at all. That's my only complaint.

Book does not work. Ordered once and thought it was just dud batteries. Was shipped another, and same thing. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS BOOK! Same thing happened with the Itsy Bitsy Spider book, and thought our kiddo just wore out batteries. Starting to think this is just a cheaply put together interactive book. Look elsewhere, or at an actual store where you can test it out before you purchase. DO NOT PURCHASE THESE BOOKS!

This book is brilliant. The pages have sliding extensions, turning wheels, and moving animals. So cool! My daughter adored having these read to her from when she was a few months old until now (she just turned two). After a while the popouts, slides, and wheels started getting a little beat up from her uncoordinated fingers, but we still keep reading it. My only complaint is that the battery life for the music is short. Really short. We have changed it out a few times and finally stopped, but we keep reading it because it's fun.

My son loves these books I have purchased them over and over again because he had ripped the pages or the binding has come undone. The music never worked on any of them which is a totally bummer I have sent them back over and over again same problem. Wish my son didn’t like them so much cause I can’t stand wasting my money on a book that doesn’t even work for a couple day’s.

This book is adorable. My issue stems with the first one we received only playing one note. It didn't work despite changing the batteries (small watch batteries). Amazon replaced it quickly and without question. Then when I hit the button it plays the song but only part of it. It does not play the notes starting with the animal noise. You only get "old McDonald had a farm EIEIO and on that farm he had a cow EIEIO" then the music ends. The book doesn't sing the words but the tune just stops. My daughter loves it but it clearly needs to play the entire tune.

My son really doesn’t press the button for the music. He likes to play with the pop outs. He’s very rough and like to play with the pop outs. They are sturdy but he is just rough lol. So I bought these a couple of times. But he insists on having these read to him over and over and over. He also will press the music button over and over. It is a short snippet and he thinks it’s so funny. It doesn’t play an entire verse while reading, so that’s the only downfall. But he doesn’t like the music while reading anyways, just when playing with the book by himself. He will press the button, dance a little. Flip the page, twirl around with the pop ups, then back to the music. It does get get annoying but it keeps my baby busy, so I’m all for it. Lol

I was disappointed when this book arrived and the song button doesn’t work. My 2 year old grandson has a trach, so a few animal sounds are all he is able to make at this time. He loves the Old MacDonald song and really enjoys making the animal sounds. He understands that the button is supposed to make sound and you can see that he is confused by it not working. Returning or exchanging the book is not an option. Waiting for a new one to arrive would take too long and because he has already played with the original one it can’t be returned. Other than the song button not working, this is a nice book with nice pictures and moving parts for a toddler.

Just like other reviews - pages are in good condition and sliders work fine, but the batteries are either dead upon arrival, don’t last, or only work intermittently. First book had dead batteries, got a replacement and batteries only play a couple notes then stopped. Put a set of my batteries in and it worked fine. Also it only plays half the song. My 2yr old always look at me with disappointment that the music stops when it’s the part of the song to make the animal sounds. Wasn’t worth keeping for the price.

Thick board pages for little finger to turn. Pressing the button helps kids remember through repetition. It's fun and sturdy.

Ordered October 5th, received November 12th. Music button didn’t work. Grandson extremely disappointed as was I.
