It does what it's meant to do, not much more.
I want to start by saying I've only used this drive with an M1 MacBook Air, I've not tried it on a PC or other OS.I bought it to rip my audio CD collection, and at first I had some issues with the discs not auto-mounting. I had to go into Disk Utility and manually mount the CD, then it worked fine. However after a reboot and a few hours use, it magically started working correctly, so I'm going to put that down to an issue with MacOS more than with this drive. It's something to keep in mind if you don't see your disc being mounted on the desktop though. Then build quality feels a little cheap, the drive is very light and a bit bulky thanks to the built-in USB hub. It seems like it's put together fine, it's just not a premium feeling device. Also, the hub and card reader on the back are quite slow, so not something I would use, except in an emergency. This drive has an attached cable with USB-C and USB-A connectors, which is quite convenient, especially if you just want to travel with it. No extra cables or power supplies required. However, the cable is only about 20cm at full stretch, which means it might not work well as a permanent part of a desktop setup, as it's going to have to sit right next to your computer. Those minor niggles aside, I had no other problems when using this. It read CDs, DVDs and CD-Rs just fine. I've not tried the Lightscribe functionality or writing disks yet, so I can't vouch for those features. Overall, it feels a little cheap, but it gets the job done and it's good value.

It does the job.
Brought this so I could revive listening to my CD's as modern laptops and desktops don't come with CD drives anymore. It's a functional piece of kit, bit noisy on startup and feels a bit lightweight though, but it does the job.

It works
It worked and it still works. Looks good too and has the slots for usb and memory which is nice.

Beware the cable is very short
This is ok for a laptop but not a PC as the cable is far too short to plug it in direct and it wont work with an extention cord or hub either.

Seems to work well compared to previous drives I tried and returned
Seems to work well with my M1 Macbook Air. The only drawback is that there are only 2 C type sockets on the MacBook Air and I can't use the DVD drive via an adaptor as there isn't enough power from the Macbook Air to drive it and the adaptor at the same time. So to connect to an external screen such as the TV I would have to disconnect the charger. Probably OK if I have a full charge. But better than previous drives I tried and returned.
