Great picture quality
My Panasonic Blu-Ray player upscaling to 4k and also upscaling the colors to 12-bit: I’m spoiled! What a great-looking show!

Great television
Love this show. Reminiscent of Monk and Psych. Cannot recommend enough. Great guest stars too.

Just stay with it....
At first, a little off kilter. Then the story line went way off kilter and became an excellent series. Natasha Lyonne is so good with character, you have to watch it just to see her in action. Cannot wait for the next season.

A Twist on the Detective Genre
Love this show. Quirky lead character. Interesting idea on case solving shows. Has a big arc story balanced well with episodic episodes. Definitley agree with Rotten Tomatoes. This is fresh. Like Columbo than you should at least like if not love Pokerface.

A conservative crime solving show with solid acting
Have you heard of the 1980s show Matlock? She is the 2020's version of Matlock. Quirky and always solves the case.

Funny, sharp and fresh.
One of the best shows of 2023. So much so that I wanted to own it on DVD (a rarity for me). Wiseass Charlie is played by Lyonne like a cross between Peter Falk and Fran Lebowitz. She rocks and so does the writing. Throw in a handful of amazing guest stars and…TV nirvana.

The series starts weak but gets better
For a show about someone who can detect lies, the opening episode involves a mystery that is solved without really using that skill. However, subsequent episodes are better and more clever in tying the mystery into the core gimmick. But I wouldn't have ever known that if I hadn't been stuck on a plane with nothing better to do. So, stick it out and don't judge it too harshly until after episode 2 or 3.The show gets compared to Columbo a lot. It's not a great comparison. The style of popular mystery shows has shifted since then, and this adheres to a more current formula. That's not good or bad, but it does make the show feel quite different than Columbo besides some superficial similarities in the interview styles of the main characters.

TOP RATED TV CRIME SERIES
....."Poker Face" has been streaming on the Peacock network since January; now it's available on dvd. Chloe Sevigny, Benjamin Bratt and Tim Blake Nelson ably support Natasha Lyonne on this show. Shows like "House" , " Breaking Bad" and "Mad Men" are few and far between--well-acted, well-written. The "fugitive on the run" theme--David Janssen in "The Fugitive"/ Marty Milner in "Route 66" --gets dusted off and made fresh in "Poker Face". Two thumbs up......
