The Stolen Boys: Jackman & Evans, Book 5

Another Great One!
I love this writer, the characters who keep growing on me and the stories. This one was particularly intriguing with the designer wear reselling scams, illegal steroids, disappearing boys, dead bodies, teenage trafficking and nasty, abusive men. This author's mind is deviously wicked in her plotting. Good stuff.

Interestingly different.
Reading this book was kind of like walking into the middle of a movie. Old lovers returning...vindictive ex-coworkers, and that was just law enforcement. Mysterious villain that I never understood who he was, what he did or was likely to do in the future. That said there was an interesting story line about the streets, survival and the different kind of crime that is out there today. Tells how technology makes things easier for the police and the criminal. Characters were reasonably likable. Some scenarios seemed a little out there...then again, if you're acquainted with any cops, not really. Things only bog down occasionally when one of the characters has to do some soul searching or "reflecting on life" It was well written and easy to picture whatever the author was trying to describe. I'm sure I will try another Joy Ellis book in the future.

Good book
This one was a bit slower getting me interested than the previous Jackman and Evans books. However, it soon picked up! The only complaint I have about Ms Ellis' books is that they are too short. I wish she'd write one, if not twice as long, at least half again as long!

This thriller grips, grabs, doesn't let go, and then that huge twist at the ending could even have
men crying especially if they have their own teenage children! This is at the point when it's revealed who the perp is! He goes by Darke! He's one of the most despicable men that walked this earth in my beliefs and what he did to those boys! Usually I don't ruin or tell the ending results of the books I read! And I apologize for doing this one! It has been 14 hours since I finished the book and usually I do the review immediately! But I waited and thought! And I decided to only say this much! So PLEASE READ JOY ELLIS' THE LOST BOYSTO GET THE COMPLETE AND AWESOME STORY! THANK YOU!

Another thrilling read
Like all of Joy Ellis' books, The Stolen Boys was a quick, enjoyable thrill ride. The pace is good, dialogue sharp and her established characters are built upon. There is an odd subplot, almost feeling like it's admission was to increase the page total, which I found distracting. Overall though, a great read and very entertaining.

Predictable. Tommy and Mossy only interesting characters.
A police procedural cozy. Adults are mono-dimensional, so it's up to the kids to carry the ball. Oliver and the Artful Dodger ought to spring to mind. The Hybird X plot is not a great stretch of the imagination. It may even exist and I am simply fortunate to know nothing about it.

Excellent Read!
Ms Ellis redefines “twists & turns” in The Stolen Boys. The plot, writing and character development are all here. I read the series in order beginning with The Murderer’s Son.

Once again, a gripping page-turner
At times harrowing, but the author always manages to keep the reader’s attention and curiosity right up to the last page. Joy Ellis never disappoints.

A good read
A written book, with an ending that one doesn't expect. Not always comfortable reading, it is however realistic with situations that do occur in real life. Suitable for readers that are not over sensitive to violence

The Stolen Boys
D I Jackman and Detective Seargeant Evans have slowly overcome their fears, and injuries. But their nemesis Alistair Ashcroft is still out there somewhere. They are both back working with their team. Stolen Designer Clothes fetching sky high prices on the blackmarket. Steroid abuse. Missing boys. Are these cases related. A clever detective thriller, another not be be missed great book from Joy Ellis. Brilliant. Read this book a second time. Highly recommended.
