Keeps my coffee fresh
I received the item less than a week. I was impress with the size of the jar. the glass looks very durable! The jar is just the right size for my daily coffee uses. Much better than using the bag to keep my coffee fresh. I had never tired the air compressor yet but I will get to that point. not sure what I would use it for. The glass look heavy that it will not crack. I highly recommend to get this glass jar. I like it better than plastic.

So far so good!
It holds the vacuum on my coffee grinds. I grind my own coffee and put it in this jar. So far it works phenomenally.

Better product available
I purchased the Gute product along with the OXO 1.7qt container. The OXO is by far the better of the two for the purpose of storing coffee beans. The lid on the Gute is hard to get off once the seal has been released and requires a two-handed grip (which results in fingerprints around the glass). The OXO is rectangular and allows me to grip the container with one hand, use one finger to release the seal, and lift the lid. I also found the gold color of the buttons on the top of the lid to be kind of clunky (why not use black?). In general, much of the Gute product is more than I need for coffee bean storage. The seal on the Gute may be more substantial and I'll keep the Gute product for longer term storage that I can hide away.

Large, classy looking jar pumps the air out to create a strong vacuum
I like all type of coffee and typically have 3 or 4 different types in the house at all times. So, when this highly specialized storage jar came up on a web search it caught my attention. The jar is a nice size and easily holds a pound of unground coffee beans. I like that it is made of glass, so it doesn't impart any plastic flavors or chemicals on to the beans. Likewise, if I decide to store some other product, glass does not absorb any coffee flavor, so it won't transfer a coffee taste either. So, its very versatile.Glass doesn't get surface scratches yellow with age or crack like some clear plastic containers I've owned. But, on the downside it is more fragile if it falls over or knocks against a hard surface. It takes some care. The plastic lid has a deep recessed channel that accepts the top portion of the glass jar. About 1/2" of the top edge of the jar goes down into this channel. The channel has a silicon ring on the inside edge of the channel which will contact the top edge and inside surface of the jar. In use this silicon will provide a strong seal to retain the vacuum created inside the jar.So, I started my test by filling the jar with coffee beans. I then place the lid on top and began to push the Gold button downward to pump the air out of the jar. The Gold button gets noticeably harder to push the more times you press it down. It never stops but it does reach a point where the effort doesn't change meaning the button has reached the maximum vacuum it can create. Now try to remove the top. I couldn't do it. The button has removed as much air and water vapor as it can to create a strong vacuum holding the lid to the jar.If the jar were left alone, it may take days, weeks or months for the air to slowly leak in reducing the vacuum. But for me, I'll probably open the jar to get the coffee a couple of times per week. But it may take me weeks to use up the beans. During that time, the beans are kept fresh just like they were the day I bought them in their original vacuum sealed bag.So, this is a very special jar that works very well. Especially for products like teas and coffee which degrade when exposed to the air. It's not inexpensive, but I think for what the product does it is offered at a reasonable price. Truthfully, with care, this product can last many years. The only parts subject to wear and tear are the silicon seal and the pumping button. It would be nice if you could buy replacement tops. Right now, I'm very happy with what I received and feel it works up to my expectations. I may have to buy a couple more.

Has a Good Seal
The media could not be loaded. This glass coffee storage jar holds a good amount of coffee and seals well as advertised. After you install the lid, you pump the big button in the middle to suck air out of the jar. When you are ready to open, depress the small button and you can hear the air rush in.

Nice quality and classy-looking. Holds a lot!
Great price, holds a lot of stuff, and it seems very quality! I've been using it for my coffee beans and it seems to keep them fresh. It's easy to open, and to seal, but don't bump the vacuum button more than once, I've noticed if I do, the lid lifts itself off after a while. One pump keeps it sealed tight. The ad mentions an included coffee spoon, but mine didn't include anything but the jar and the lid.Nice glass storage jar for less than 20 bucks!

Looking for an air-tight container for your coffee beans?
Looking for an air-tight container for your coffee beans? We use this container to store our whole fresh coffee beans. The vacuum seal is just fun and satisfying to use. It locks the lid on securely and keeps our coffee fresh. The container easily holds a pound of coffee beans, and looks great in the kitchen. Additionally, I like that the glass container can go into the dishwasher if desired. The container would be great for things other than coffee, like chocolate, flour, or even cereal. (Anything you want to keep fresh).RecommendedPros:-Holds over a pound of coffee, 1800 ml or 60 fluid ounces-Hold a tight seal to lock in freshness-Dishwasher safeCons:-Clear glass: I’m told coffee should be stored in opaque containers, so we use this container, but store it in a dark location. No stars removed since the container works so well.
