Amazing and impossible to put down.
I have never read a book by David Baldacci that I have not enjoyed and loved. The research he does is amazing. Of course that is why his books are so engaging and realistic. He did a great job of keeping me guessing until the end.If you have not read any of his books you need to give him a try. And I hope and believe that you will want to read more.

You won’t be able to put it down!
Baldacci does a great job of finding that elusive balance between providing well-developed characters and non-stop suspense. The only reason I gave this 4 instead of 5 stars was I found the ending to be rushed and unsatisfying. All in all, a very entertaining read though.

Not bad for a debut series.
It is definitely a different direction to the previous series, a Memory Man. I am a big fan of that series. I hope Mr Baldacci will not retire that series. This debut series is not too bad. I like the idea of the combination of high finance and military. I don’t think there are many books around base on this background. The book started off very well until about a third quarter of the book where it became quite slow then, the pace pick up. The ending was unexpected. As the saying goes, the person one least expected is one person who becomes your worst enemy. Overall a good book indeed. Highly recommend the book to those readers who love a good twist at the end.

Good, but...
But maybe Im too knowledgeable about investigative procedures and how true criminal enterprises work. So I felt underwhelmed by this whole story. The first half of this book felt like it was written by a committee of the author's staffers. Sorta juvenile set ups and resolutions. The plot...sorta interesting and timely, was not fleshed out enough. And the whole signaling method...used by the main bad guy...silly. just silly. And the cops hands off behaviors? Also silly.

A story of truth, honor, deception and death...
An Army Ranger officer, decorated and respected, becomes involved in a crime of honor, that results in his voluntary resignation from a career he loved. In an effort to atone, he becomes involved in Wall Street finance and stumbles into a plot with National Security implication...What follows allows him to become part of an ongoing investigation that beings a feeling of accomplishment and honor to his soul once again... Classic Baldacci with superb character development and a plot that will leave you guessing until the final sentence. A series that promises much to offer...

Baldacci does it again!
Baldacci is an excellent author who always reaches out to his authorities to guide him when he is writing on subjects outside the normal realm of everyday living. Not everyone knows about shotguns, ammo, firearms and over and under firearms. It gives his writing truth. Thank you for making your writing real. He does the same with internet protocols. The bottom line is, he does his research and this is what makes him such a great author.
