Works great!
I have used other Satechi devices and was nervous to upgrade because of the reviews, but I’ve had zero issues with mine. It works great and helps me to clean up my cables on my desk. I have mine connected to my Macbook pro, keyboard, mouse and run two monitors on it. Says it can run three, so I figured I’ll add another monitor soon.

Perdi deo USB-C
Ha sido una experiencia realmente decepcionante.I purchased this device trusting that I wouldn't need to use all four USB-C ports of my MacBook Pro, but unfortunately, the experience hasn't met my expectations. Following the instructions in the manual, I connected the equipment and, to my dismay, it resulted in damaging one of the USB-C ports on my computer. Initially, I assumed it was a fluke. However, upon attempting to connect it to a second USB-C port, that one was also rendered inoperative. Far from being the connectivity solution I was looking for, this device has instead caused further complications, leaving me with only two available USB-C ports: one for the monitor and another for charging. It has been a truly disappointing experience.

Unmistakably useful
(Item: SATECHI Triple 4K Docking Station, USB C Docking Station 13-in-1, with 100W PD, 2 DisplayPort, 3 HDMI, 4 USB-C, USB-A, Gigabit Ethernet, and Audio Jack - for MacBook and Windows)In order to add additional monitors to a laptop limited to a single additional display, you’d normally be considering a Thunderbolt dock/hub (usually an expensive option). Enter DisplayLink.DisplayLink has been around for a little bit now. The software (from a trusted 3rd-party company) allows for display over USB 3.0 for a multi-monitor setup. Typically, USB 3.0 wouldn’t be able to provide enough bandwidth to support a multi-display setup. But this software uses your computer’s CPU and GPU to re-encode (or manage) the desktop image using less bandwidth than is normally required. It does this by recognizing only the ‘moving’ pixels on your display while leaving the ‘static’ images alone. And since it’s not refreshing/processing every pixel on the display, it uses much less bandwidth to accomplish the task. In most cases, it can do this with laptops (including some older ones) that would normally only provide support for one additional monitor. And, the software manages this quite effectively. There are a handful of quality companies that are making hubs which utilize this software. Regardless of which brand you choose, select the hub that best fits your needs. Pricing (for the most part) will be reflective of what each hub offers (as far as number-of-displays supported, power supply, USB-A & USB-C ports, ethernet support, etc). With regard to this DisplayLink-supported hub by Satechi, it’s an excellent offering. Build quality is exactly what you’d expect from this brand. They have a well-earned reputation for manufacturing robust, quality products (consistently, I might add). And this hub is no different. The 140W power adapter/cable is a nice touch. No compromise with regard to power delivery support. The included ports are well thought out and placed accordingly (namely, the host plug on the side of the hub for a parallel connection with your laptop). The HDMI/DisplayPort options, Ethernet port, and a couple of USB-A ports are on the back. And the front ports give you a way to add a few peripherals/drives/etc as needed. Plus, an audio jack. Super convenient. Compared to other hubs, this one is nicely furnished. My setup was an M2 MacBook Air hooked up to three (non-Apple) 4K displays. Dongles in the rear of this hub were for my Logi Bluetooth mouse and keyboard. On the front, I added a Samsung T7 (with FCPX projects) and plugged in my phone and iPad just for the heck of it. I had no issues getting all three monitors to work. And, though the hub would get warm pushing all that tech, it never got to a concerning level. But, as amazing as it was, it’s important to understand the limitations of the software if you’e considering this (or any) DisplayLink dock.I had no issues performing productivity tasks using a multitude of apps (email, Word/Pages, Excel, Stocks, Zoom, etc) with all of them open at the same time. Additionally, browsing the web and using FaceTime seemed pretty normal for the most part. No glitching that I would have recognized as an issue. But, I did notice that when using GPU-intensive apps like FCPX or watching YouTube in 4K, the experience wasn’t as smooth. It was still doable. But, it was here that you could see the difference between using DisplayLink software and a Thunderbolt dock. And that kind of makes sense. Using much less bandwidth (by design), the DisplayLink software is (amazingly) able to do MOST of the same display management without issue. But, a Thunderbolt 4 dock (which can support up to 40Gbits of bandwidth) is able to manage every pixel on multiple screens rather than just the ‘active’ pixels.(As a side note, I didn’t try gaming. But, I would assume that for moderately static games like Legend of Zelda, it wouldn’t be an issue at all. But, playing Call Of Duty would most likely introduce dropped frames. Again, not a big deal unless you’re a serious gamer.)Another possible limitation is the ability for the hub to send video & audio signals to a display without HDMI or DisplayPort (such as the Apple Studio Display). Should I try this, I’ll update this review. Having said that, however, I don’t want to knock this device in any way. The technology is truly amazing. The combination of the DisplayLink software and the Satechi hardware is really excellent. And future iterations have the potential to get vastly better as the software develops in parallel with advancements of your computer’s CPU/GPU performance.Truly, I’m very happy with this dock. Although I won’t be using it on my video-editing workstation, I will absolutely love using this for my productivity suite. This is an excellent product and an easy recommendation for consideration.

Misleading or Non-Functional, Software Doesn't Work
I needed to use a DisplayLink driver downloaded seperately from the software for this devices, which is a seperate download from Synaptics. I'm on a MacBook Pro 13 M1 and was trying to use two external Dell 27" monitors via HDMI. The native software from SATECHI does not work. Even with the DisplayLink, I have to use the experimental mode.

Does exactly what it says on the box
I researched this for a while and I am super happy that I chose this device. It worked out of the box with a simple SW package install. I works. It JUST works!!

Better options than this.
Definitely better options. Gets hot, flickers constantly. Makes a very loud whirring noise. Does function and has for a while but my experience with other similar products has been better. Very complicated to get set up for some reason.
