Palladium - good enough for the French Foreign Legion, good enough for me
As a sufferer of shin splints and problematic knees it has been difficult for me to find footwear that is both stylish and comfortable. Converse, Vans, Chelsea boots and Doc Martens have aggravated this condition. I have a comfortable pair of walking trainers but they don't exactly go well with smarter clothes or for work. I searched amazon for boots and Palladium boots popped up. I then found these Pampa Hi boots and read the reviews with some excitement but they seemed a little too good to be true to be honest. The photos looked great so I decided to risk it and ordered them. Within a few days they arrived and I convinced myself as I opened the package that they would either be uncomfortable or an eye sore. I was immediately pleased and relieved by their appearance. I tried them on and within minutes my doubts and apprehensions disappeared. After a day of wearing them I was delighted. And further on they are everything I've been looking for and well worth the money. If only I had found these two years ago I'd have saved my self from wasting money on Doc Martens and converse I can't wear as well as the discomfort and aggravation these shoes caused my shins and knees. I will certainly be looking to Palladium for any future footwear needs. No wonder the French Foreign Legion adopted a Palladium boot for their footwear. Great quality, comfortable, practical and good looking. For me the perfect footwear.

Light and Sturdy
Great boots. I've worn them a number of times for general walking (street, not hills!) - around 1.5 - 2ish miles and they are comfortable, light yet feel solidly made. The sole appears very durable and should last a long time. Also handles all surfaces well, including supermarket floors which can sometimes be slippy. Not with these, barely noticed differences in footing. Sizing is bang on too. And of course they look awesome. Quality footwear, first time from Palladium and very impressed, They'll be high on my list when time comes for a replacement pair.

Solid
Solid, comfortable walking boots, and they also look pretty smart with a nice pair of jeans. My only minor complaint would be that they are a little heavy for a boot that is mostly canvas, but I'm sure I'll get used to that.

Love these boots
these boots are awesome. So comfortable and they look great. I got these for £14 on Amazon which is an absolute bargain. My first pair (which i now use for work) cost me £40 in a shop in Bluewater. But even at this price they are still great boots and worth the money. They look good with jeans, trousers and shorts, I am always in shorts as it is so hot at work and they look great with my shorts. The only slight problem is that you can sometimes get some pretty massive stones stuck in the soles!! They have a massive tread pattern and the stones get stuck in between but they are easy to flick out! I think the French foreign Legion use these boots and Palladium used to make aircraft tyres which can only be a good thing!

4 days….
Palladium boots are very comfortable while they last. This pair managed to go for a whopping 4 days of use before doing the usual of bursting at the canvas/rubber junction!

perhaps like how shoes were made in the 1940's
Just not sure about these...... I expect they probably cost about £8.50 to manufacture, and are put together in a strange way, perhaps like how shoes were made in the 1940's. But then again, that is what you are getting; a military shoe who's design hasn't every really changed since it was first thought up. For me, the stitching of the panels that make up the upper, inside the shoe on either side of your foot, is just annoying, and faces the wrong way, so every time you put your foot in, you pull up the stitching, and it sits there and bugs me on either side of your foot. There is a bit of solid something or other that reinforces the heel, but it finishes abrubtly at the base of your achilles, right where shoes tend to rub. It bugs me too. Lastly, they have had some fun with the sole, which really is grippy off road, in a bit of mud, or a grassy hillside. However, they probably didn't envisage their soldiers marching through Lidl, when it's been raining a bit, or through a typical English high street, when wet, with all different kinds of paving, greasy cobbles/ bricks etc. It's pretty scary. When I put them on I don't see Morgan Freeman coming out from behind a sunbeam, I just think it will be good in a year or so when they wear out and I can buy some proper shoes. Really though, if you have bought these, go to Lidl when it's been raining. Embrace the fear, and keep your weight over your toes......

Great Footwear!
I have just bought my second pair of these. I still have the first pair and have worn them pretty much daily for nearly three years. I wore my first pair on trips through Africa, the M.E. and Asia. Hiked up the Pen-y-fan with them and wore them everyday at a ranch where I worked in Canada's Rocky Mountains. I love the canvas...it breathes well and dries fast if wet. The rubber sole has hardly worn down despite the miles I have put on my first pair. As long as they keep making these I will keep buying them. If there was any negative, do not put them in the wash if they get dirty as the colour fades quite quickly with just one washing. My first pair are more off-white now than khaki. But would highly recommend these boots.

quality as usual-
My second pair of palladium boots, the first pair being the best pair of lightweight all purpose boots I've ever had and are still going strong. Got these to complement them as a lighter weight summer pair. Again fit was perfect [ a bonus for people like me with wide feet] and these are proving as comfortable as my first pair. Build quality is very good, they look good but are rugged and can take a fair amount of punishment. Don't think I'll look much beyond palladium when I next need another pair of shoes.

I normally wear a 10 wide in US market shoes. Based on reviews that these run tight/small, I ordered half size up (10.5). The fundamental problem is that they are disproportionately long/narrow at any given size. The 10.5 is still too narrow for my feet at the arch (the narrowest part), yet my toe is about 1 inch back from the tip of the boot. I look and feel like I am walking with aircraft carriers strapped to my feet. If you have narrow, super long banana feet, these boots may work for you. If your feet are average to wide, do yourself a favor and stay away. My other gripe is that the soles are glued, not stitched. The soles of shoes are always the first things to die, so consider these boots disposable since you can't replace the soles.

My 3rd pair of these boots. Enormously versatile, comfortable, and affordable.

This is my second pair of Palladiums since the first ones I got were pallabrouse baggies and I didn't like them. Regardless of what others say the sizing IS one size above US sizes. I am a size 9 and got it in 8 US and it fit just right. Seems the Vietnamese have their measurements different because my old pallabrouses were literally US size 10 even though they said size 9 on the label since I had an inch and nearly a half of space from my toe to end of my boot. Overall they are a good pair of boots and I highly recommend them.
