You will be pleasantly surprised!
I’m a mental health therapist and initially bought the game to aid in building rapport with new clients but I’m finding that my current clients benefit and enjoy playing as well. The age range has been elementary age to middle school kids. The fidget poppers and heart pieces really seem to pique that initial curiosity in the game, even for many of the older kids. The questions on the cards are thought provoking and keep the kids engaged. The Joy cards - involve physical movement of some sort which is novel for a game like this and the kids love it. The pop-its, the cards, the hearts, and the box are sturdy and of very good quality.

valuable
I was looking for a non competitive game and came across this one. It's great fun, the whole family had a blast and wanted to play it again. And while playing they learn what is right or wrong and to be honest without loosing their face. I can only recommend it. Sadly it was sold out otherwise I would have bought it as a gift.

Great opportunity to start and continue really important conversations-Good for ESL conversations
I am always looking for communication tools for personal and professional use and this is REALLY interesting. As someone interested in concepts like wabi sabi for intellectual and self-soothing purposes, I thought this was a very clever idea when I first saw it and I am not disappointed. (Now I would like to see one that addresses kintsugi (goldenrepair) too. The product is a high quality product to the touch. Not flimsy or cheaply made. The instructions are clear. The questions are really interesting and even my husband who does not easily engage in conversation other than the weather and the news got genuinely involved. I can see great opportunities for ESL conversation groups too - esp in homes where there are kids. With so much going n with post pandemic effects on teens, etc, this is a great conversation builder in a non-threatening environment.

gets to the heart of it!
Saving Wabi Sabi according to my 16 year old son... is "a game for people who want to dive deep into the heart and emotion."I am so proud of the hard work both of my children have done over the years with school and all different kinds of therapy. Both of my children have experienced bullying and unkind people. Knowing how to handle situations, I believe is more important than memorizing facts and figures and spitting them back out for a grade. Being unique is frowned upon when we are younger and can be treasured as we grow older into adulthood. This might "look" like a game for only kiddos...but do not let the box fool you. Young and old enjoy playing this game. I love games that have a deepening of overall health (in this case emotional). My children got to expand their reasoning skills as well as stretch their emotional intelligence. It was easy to set up and to play. The children specially mentioned all of the fun and colorful parts of the game.My son (especially) begged to play it over and over again. That is a GREAT response if you ask me! I would have to add this to the top 10 family games at our house! HIGHLY RECOMMEND this to all families. The term Emotional Intelligence is not new....but it is something I pray more people KNEW!Much Love!

A nice addition to family game night or simply a conversation starting deck.
Essentially these are conversation cards turned into a game and the co-operative nature of the game adds another layer to it.I've also pulled out the cards by themselves and used them as conversation starters with my kids here and there but outside of the game they sometimes ask me "Why are you asking..?" The fidget poppers as counters is brilliant but I have to hunt them down every now and then because the kids can and will play with them outside of the game. The cards being divided by topic (Self-awareness, empathy, thoughtful choices, connection, kindness, and joy) is helpful. I find the joy questions the most fun to ask the kids.Overall this is a good set of conversation cards to use as a family with or without the game aspect.

Great game to play with the kids & seeing the little ones express themselves
We have family dinner every Sunday and play a game after. I got this to try out with the family. It was a great game to play with the kids. We have ages 7-14 and then the adults are 25 and up. You def have to have the right audience, all adults or while drinking would probably be weird. It was really nice seeing the little kids learning how to figure out how to express themselves. The 12 and 14 year old boys were awkward at first but once we did a couple rounds they saw it was ok or cool to have opinions. The yellow cards are the most fun for kids. You usually have to do an action so they would always hope they would pull a yellow card. We learned new things about everyone. Is adults loved the Empathy cards. There was one question where you had to name 3 things you love about everyone playing. It was really cute to see what they came up with. We tried to follow the rules of the game but they were so excited to play, we kind of made up our own rules. I highly recommend! My cousin is a therapist for military kids at a couple schools and she wants to get her own set of cards to use at her work. It’s a great game to learn more about each other. I can’t wait to take it to our next family camping trip
