I sail a Menger 17 Catboat. I seldom need a dinghy to get ashore so I don't want to tow one behind my boat. Being a good Amazombie, I poked around and started researching packrafts. This folds up to the size of a mailbox and the included storage bag can be inflated as a pillow. It takes up no room at all in the compartment in the stern. I tried inflating it with the bag and while that would work for a hiker or someone traveling light, after 2 minutes I realized this wouldn't work for me. I spent $26 on a rechargeable air pump that fits in the palm of my hand. Inflation takes three or four minutes. By the time I've dug out my double paddle and assembled it, the raft has inflated itself. The material, TPU, thermoplastic polyurethane is very durable. It has the properties of rubber with the hardness of plastic. I believe I read where this is attached to a nylon backing.The raft easily holds me and my folding bicycle and groceries. It has an extra large deflation plug and once pulled the raft flattens out ready for folding. If you watch the small video you see the paddler crabbing all over the place because they had a single paddle. That might be okay if you're just crossing a river or a small body of water as you're hiking or camping. To go any distance you really need a double paddle to help you keep on course since there is no keel. If you're into dingy cruising or you're just tired of dragging that boat behind your sailboat then this might be something you would consider. I paid for this and there has been no compensation.
