Q: how many decibels approximately?

Using my iPhone db meter at about 12 inches from the bell it measured about 100db at the beginning of the pleasant ding-ding sound. At about 10 feet from the bell it measured about 90db. In my view, it is a good loudness to be effective in the 10-25 foot range, while not being offensive.

Q: Does this bell have a similar ding dong sound like a Dutch bell?

This bicycle warning bell has one sound…”ding”. It does not Ding/Dong. It is much like the Monaco bell. Not familiar with the Dutch bell. Hope this helps.

Q: Do the three dome colors sound different (i.e., I’d expect pure brass to be louder and/or more sustaining vs. black paintef or chromed silver)?

Don't know about the other colors but the black one sounds great.
