I have a birthday present made from a similar product and a 12" single, and it has been incredibly useful. Unfortunately the old mechanism made grinding noises and eventually died so I bought this to replace it. The old hands still fitted, the hole size was correct.Don't over tighten the nut, the rubber washer will compress and the mechanism will use the clock as a sounding board. It's virtually silent when fitted as per instructions..

I had to widen the hole in my record a little and I crafted a little hook to mount it on the wall. Very fiddly and the arms are very very delicate, but so far I’m pleased with the result. It’s given an old record I could no longer play a new lease of life.

Easy to install..had to change the old mechanism for a watch..and I was really impressed about the accuracy.. after 2-3 months maybe.. shows the same hour as the phone..so it's more than OK for me..and really silent..(nothing annoys me more than the ticking sounds).Not impressed by the material used for the clock hands..thin metal and easily bendable..so had to keep the old plastic ones for hour and minutes..

You buy a nice clock on holiday - then find on returning home it loses 5 minutes a week. Bit of a trek to return it, so this seemed a better option. I bought a replacement for another, older clock not long ago from a different supplier - but that didn't work - in fairness, may have been my hamfisted attempt to change the mechanism. So either experience paid off and/or this is more robust mechanism.

I bought several kits to experiment, and this product twice. Both had good mechanisms. The mechanism has about half a minute of play in each handle, i.e. the minute handle could be half a minute off, which should not be a problem as the torque keeps it at one end of the range of play. The handles are made of thin metal and are flimsy: children often bend them by accident.So the kit is good as a first kit for tests, but I am looking for something more sturdy after these first tests.

Replacing my current movement was very easy with this item. The description was acurate and the instructions with it easy to understand took 5 minutes from opening the packet to putting the clock back on the wall. It also arrived 2 days earlier than adviced delivery date

Useless. The hole for the minute hand was too small to fit into the mechanism, and when I finally got it on and working the device doesn’t even keep time. No matter how often I set the correct time, it doesn’t work - it’s currently 3 1/2 hours fast despite my setting it again last night.

We bought this replace the mechanism on our beloved kitchen clock. It was easy to change. It has been running for 2 months now and the time is accurate. Very happy to have been able to fix our clock rather than buy a new one.

Replacement for a clock that ticked so loud I could hear it all through the house. Very easy to install.

The clock can be heard ticking a room away, otherwise it does the job.
