Used it for sound dampening. Very versitile.
I used this to dampen the sound echoing under our hardwood flooring and a large door gap under the door of about 2 inches. Could clearly hear conversations on the other side of the house. This square foam is perfect and large enough to cover the gap, It reduced noise by about 40%. I then coupled this with foam weather strip tape to seal the door to the frame making the sound drop another 20%. Now it's just the door itself that's too thin and needs something to be fully soundproof.

Mixed feelings
When I first received the draft stopper, I was hoping for a more practical solution to block out drafts and cold air from under my door. The stopper is made of fabric and is 36 inches wide and 2 inches thick, providing a substantial barrier against drafts. However, I have concerns about its practicality in the long run.One of my main concerns is the fabric material of the draft stopper. While it effectively blocks out cold air and reduces noise, I worry that it will accumulate dirt and debris over time. Cleaning or washing the fabric strip could be a hassle, as I would need to remove it from the door and handle the potentially dirty material. On the positive side, I have noticed that the draft stopper does effectively keep bugs and insects from entering my living space. It creates a barrier at the bottom of the door, minimizing the gaps through which bugs could crawl in. This has provided me with some peace of mind, especially during warmer months when insects tend to be more active. The installation process of the draft stopper was relatively easy and did not require any damage to the door. It can be easily adjusted to fit the width of the door, and the foam strip provides a good seal. However, due to the fabric material, I have concerns about its long-term durability and effectiveness.

Okay
Our master bedroom sits right off the kitchen and at night the ice maker and condensers can make a lot of noise. As a result we use a draft stopper to block both noise and kitchen smells when cooking. I ordered this stopper to replace an older stopper (stuffed with husks) that is showing its age. This one is okay but much bulkier. It does not do as good a job with noise cancellation. I'll move this to a guest bedroom but will continue looking for a sturdier replacement.

Big piece of foam to cut and a strap- but it works
We rarely use the door that goes from my daughters bedroom to the rear room addition (was a patio once upon a time). The door was cut to accommodate golden shag carpeting that i yanked out years ago.Limited budget and a ton of household improvements left her room with a 1 inch gap and draft. This foam is an inexpensive resolution to this problem. Simple to attach and my daughter did it herself. Door functions fine but again- we rarely use it.

Worked out great for me
I have an unusual situation, where the door where I am looking to seal in air (a.c.) is also one I use regularly for sit-ups. Thus, having a sit-up bar underneath, it's been a bit of a trial to find a good solution. When I saw this item, I considered I would likely end up with, at the very least, the materials I needed, whether by initial and purposeful design or with some ingenuity. In the end, both worked well together.First, the overall item is simple and really effective. At least, when your door is close to the max length. I didn't have to "fold the ends", so cannot offer much toward that circumstance. The fabric itself is solid. The zippers are good and strong, not likely to break easily. The design is simple and effective. The actual foam is very basic, so don't expect any "designer insulation" here. Just foam cubes, essentially. They have three pieces, and there is a central opening to slot them in. You can thus trim down any of the three, depending on your requirements, and this is what really made this work for me.As my sit-up bar "grips" underneath, and is about 2 inches wide, I trimmed those two inches off of the inner side of a wide third, and when sliding it all under the door, I just inserted the sit-up bar frame where I had trimmed back the foam. It's not "perfect", but it worked out really well. It's a bit "open" beneath the U clamp, but that's something I can tackle with a little more ingenuity. The length of my door was about an inch or two short of the full length of the item, but with my jimmy-rigging, it all gathered in the middle. The only issue I potentially ran into was that the door frame on the inner size was wider than that outside. It is therefore a good squeeze to close the door, as it needs to shove over a bit. In the end, this simple causes the gaps to fill even tighter, and that all goes toward a better seal on the room.Big winner for me. I really like the item. In general, the design is simple, and if you're patient and trim effectively (if needed), I consider you might also make it work for you.
