The pen is mostly sturdy --- though there is a bit of a wobble to the bottle/can opener/hex tool --- and the component modules screw together cleanly. The flashlight is bright with a focused beam; one thing to note is that the button to turn the flashlight on isn't indented so if you're carrying this loose in a bag it might accidentally get pressed and turn on the flashlight. I've clipped mine securely to a compartment in my backpack and it has only been accidentally turned on when I've directly hit the button with my hand. The pocket clip is extremely tight and you might find you'd like to loosen it with a torx screwdriver if you plan to carry this in a suit or shirt pocket. The pen writes as well as any average medium point ballpoint pen does.This pen is longer and bulkier than your average pocket pen (Pilot G2 gel ink pen for scale) so if it's important to you to be able to disguise this as a more average pen you should probably look elsewhere; this pen wouldn't pass for anything but a tactical pen beyond the most cursory inspection. If, like me, you're just looking for a tactical pen to sit in your briefcase or backpack this should be compact enough for your needs.I would have liked the middle compartment --- the one that holds the pen and the opener and hex tool --- to be reversible. As it is now, each component must be screwed into an exact position: the pen has to screw into the flashlight and the opener/hex tool into the glass breaker. Since the barrel behind the glass breaker is hollow anyway, I would have liked to have the option to reverse that. You also won't be able to slip the flashlight "cap" over the end of the pen if you choose write with this, so there is some risk of losing the flashlight while it's floating around loose.The bonus wire saw and 11-in-1 credit card tool were both usual quality.

Terrific upgrade from same product purchased a couple of months ago, now with ADDED wire-based saw, and well-thought out shiny “credit card-type,” multi-functional small survival items! Terrific to have in pocket or glove compartment for me, & relatives plus close friends as gifts!

Very nice packaging to give as a gift. Overall the pen is very functional. A little long for my taste but there has to be some five for everything the pen gives you. For the price it is very nice. Have not used the multi tool but i am not entirely confident in its durability. The flash light is surprisingly bright from wha I was expecting. The added bonus made this offer more appealing. The credit card type multi tool feels nice and sturdy. It is about as thick as two credit cards stacked on top of each other. Overall I feel it is worth the purchase.

Pen writes great and light is very bright. ......but bottle opener broke on first use! WTF. Not buying this any more

Got this for Christmas, and this Self Defense pen is SO COOL!! Never heard of one of these before. But I LOVE it!! Very cool gift for the guy in your life. Definitely going to keep this thing on me always, as my main pen for writing, and will have all the other gadgets if I need them. The wallet tool is also very neat and well made, and the flexible saw looks well made as well. I would definitely buy one of these for someone else, and would highly recommend it as a gift, or to buy for yourself. Looks very well made of high quality material. Even has rubber o-rings where each section screws apart, so it should be waterproof.

3 Stars because I bought 1 back on March 9th, liked it so much I bought another one. It showed up without the multi tool where it was supposed to be. Nothing under that screw off lid but a mounting point....

Its good quality. Feels great to use. I dont feel like its going to break in a week which is nice BUT...it will barely right. The ink cartridge might be a dud but out of the box it wouldnt right at all...which i didnt find out until i tried to use it at work and dont have any replacements.

I like the pen itself. It's sturdy. I dislike that I didn't get the pocket saw with it. That was half the reason I wanted this bundle. Oh well.
