Works great on Mr. Coffee Cafe Barista
Bought this after researching to replace the pressurized portafilter setup that comes stock with the Mr. Coffee Cafe Barista. This basket (3-tab, 4 mm prongs) fit perfectly, and allows me to take better advantage of my upgraded grinding equipment. It also greatly simplifies cleaning and opportunities for rancid coffee to build up in the pressurized portafilter and basket setup, by reducing the number of parts to be dismantled and cleaned down from something like 10 to 2. The portafilter includes a spring ring that holds the basket in place, simplifying puck knock out and keeping things together. The parts seem very well made, and I like the naked portafilter setup, which helps me get a better understanding of how well I ground, distributed, and tamped my beans. I also appreciate the added depth of the non-pressurized basket, which allowed me to get my dosing up from approximately 12 g (if I tried REALLY hard) with the pressurized basket, to up above 14 g. Still experimenting there, but there's loads of room to go, and you can pull a much larger shot with this setup. The final quality of the espresso, to me, is greatly improved with this non-pressurized setup, but only because I have a very good grinder and an existing setup used on a manual espresso machine. You'll also have to go to a custom espresso pump duration, because neither single nor double will be equivalent to what you'll end up with once you change the required pressure and volume of beans in your basket. If you intend to switch to the non-pressurized setup, be aware that this takes out much of the forgiveness that comes with the out-of-the-box pressurized setup, meaning your mileage may vary. But if you have a grinder capable of espresso grind, and a tamper (51 mm works for me), a dosing funnel, and maybe a distribution tool, you're much better off turning your semi-automatic into a mostly-manual machine. But if you want to make the switch, this portafilter and basket is a perfect upgrade to your setup, for those with the Mr. Coffee Cafe Barista machine and possibly others.

Fits the Mr Coffee Cafe Barista perfectly. Next level expresso
I have recently been on an expresso kick and trying to step up my game. After a lot of reading online I found that the 51mm portafilter is the size that fits the Mr Coffee Cafe Barista machine I have. Its not a high end expresso machine but gets the job done for a newcomer like me. The problem with the MCCB is that it comes with a pressurized portafilter. This portafilter allows you to not use pressurized and do it like a real cafe. It has the 3 tabs that are necessary for same connection as the OEM portafilter. First time I used it I had over filled it (novice mistake) and while it was running the pressure was able to untwist the portafilter spraying grounds and hot coffee all over the counter. This was my mistake but I suggest keeping a hand on the handle until you learn the correct amount of powder to use when making your expresso. Once I had my measurement dialed in I can leave the portafilter to itself without any worry of the handle unlockng itself. I have since run 200 cups through easily without a single repeat of the first incident. Its very sturdy, easy to clean, and gives a great cup when the grinds are done right. If you want to improve the MCCB expresso considerably this is a must have. Do some reading as there are other factors that play into the end product as well (grind quality / fineness) but at least with this portafilter you have the mandatory first piece in hand and it works with this machine flawless.

Worked great for a week
At first this was a great product. It fit my Gevi machine and mad great esspresso. Then it started spewing coffee everywhere in micro streams just like some reviewers stated. I tried cleaning it with compressed air to no avail. I ended up returning.

Exceeded All Expectations
Sadly, a lot of time when I buy a product like this I find that the sellers are better at product photography than they are at actually making things. Not so in this case - It's been a while since I opened a box from Amazon and was truly impressed with what I received. I bought this to replace the pressurized portafilter on my Casabrews Cm5418, since the Casabrews-branded bottomless equivalent was going to take about a week for Prime shipping. I'm glad I bought this one instead - the metal is perfect, nicely polished, and fits my machine exactly. The wood is finished beautifully with a satin sheen and not a ding in it. I like that the basket has a retaining ring in the portafilter so you can knock the puck out. The only downside is that it's going to require me to step up my game - I'm going to have to spend some time getting my grind, distribution, and tamping just right to take advantage of what this offers.

Nice weight and easy to use!!
This is a nice portafilter -- it sometimes leaks around the top of the filter and gets coffee outside the cup on our MR Coffee Espresso Machine BUT it doesn't so that all the time --- it is sturdy and easy to put on and take off the machine.......

Ehh
I don't hate it but I certainly don't love it. It's made well as far as material goes. It leaks and creates a mess though. I'm not an amateur when it comes to pulling shots of espresso and for the life of me I can't seem to get this from leaking or making a mess.3 stars because it's very nice, heavy and durable. Realistically for the actual purpose of this tool I'd give it 1 star because it doesn't allow me to pull proper shots of espresso. Bummer.

It works perfectly.
This is a great item for my Mr. Coffee Barista. At the first brew, the shot was messy, , and coffee splashed everywhere, my coffee puck was watery and my coffee tasted horrible . But after dialing-in with a correct grind size (fine like powder) with exact 16g and soft tamping (do not hard tamping, it will choke your Mr. Coffee Barista), my coffee is perfect. The shot after dialing-in is nice and smooth with even brewing, and the coffee tastes great with good crema. My coffee puck is dry enough to be knocked out with an intact shape. I recommend buying this item if you have a Mr. Coffee Barista.
