Overall I am happy with this radio. It has some quirks but most radios do. It you are short on space in a car this radio will probably fit in there.Likes: Small Size, Decent audio Receive and Transmit, Small but easy to read display in color. 5-15-25 watts out, Multi function Speaker Mic. Program using CHIRP and program cable. Very low cost and great as 1st or backup radio.Cons: These are not deal breakers to me. Can get hot with prolonged use at high power (small fan on heat sink will fix that), Volume controlled by hitting a Program Key then using knob (there is a fix for that), Chinglish manual. Signal Strength is not calibrated, just an indicator.Volume can be controlled by knob with programming then use Up/Down buttons on Microphone to change channels. I find I don't have to change volume once set but I'm using it as a base unit.My Microphone Up/Down buttons did not work. Resolder connector in Microphone and had to clean out plastic in plug with a small screwdriver to get between prongs. Guess it was left over from crimping. I got the radio and the antanna deal they were made fo each other.I have been talking all over Maine with this set up.It works with the chirp software I have so far havnt needed the full 25wts. My meter says 29wts output on some frequencies so I'm happy. I nought a second now O have one for a base and one for the jeep.

The only thing I did not like was programming software purchased my own could not open data port with provided software used code plug with purchase of RT systems software.
