Essential Elements for Strings - Book 1 (Original Series): Cello

While the book is really helpful, a great beginner book for learning cello, etc. I was disappointed to find out that although the name and author are the same as the book my daughter's orchestra teacher told them to get, it was not the right edition. So that was disappointing because I had to go to the brick and mortar music store and pay much more for the right edition than I would have if I got the right edition from Amazon (because we needed it the next day she had orchestra class).Again, great book--wrong edition. Does what its supposed to do, was requested by my daughters teacher.

My daughter started to learn cello at her school. This is her teacher recommended book. A very good book for her as a begginer.

My granddaughter began playing some of the music immediately and found the book easy to follow and well-organized. It helped her advance her cello-playing.

I have been using this book to teach cello for the past 15 years. It introduces skills progressively and has good illustrations.

The best ever starter Book!

Great book

If your are just learning cello with a teacher, or on your own, This is the book to buy. It teaches all the basic steps. For example, It shows where the fingers go, It will show you how to bow. If you do not know how to read music, this book will teach you bass clef, which is what you need to know to play cello. This book also has practice songs and will help your learn to play cello step by step. Just keep in mind that this is book one, to advance there are more advanced books as well. I highly recomend this book if you are trying to learn cello.
