I Like Big Buttons! Starter KIt - KAM Snap Pliers & Awl with 100 KAM Plastic Snaps for No Sew Buttons/Cloth Diaper/Sewing/Clothing/Fasteners (Rainbow & White)

I received the product only a few days ago, therefore, I'm still a novice at using it. I'm sewing a tote bag that has pockets and the pattern suggests using snaps for closures. As another reviewer noted, the instructions that come with the kit leave much to be desired, but they provide a link to a YouTube video. The video is good, and I highly recommend watching it, but one negative is that the production is rather dark, and I will say that I DID find some other videos on YouTube that were more helpful in that regard.With regard to my project, the pockets into which I wanted to install the snaps is quite thick. It's cotton fabric lined with a fusible interfacing, and to top it off, the pocket has a pleat. Just above the pleat, you're instructed to install this snap. Well, I was able to install the male side of the snap on the flap of the pocket with no trouble. But the other side (the side with the pleat) was too thick and the snap kept falling out. Remedy: I went to their website and found that they have snaps with extra long studs, so I ordered them. I will update this review..UPDATE: Received the snaps with the longer studs, but was unsatisfied with the results. The snaps continue to fall out. I went to another website and ordered an alternative. For me, this method of installing snaps leaves much to be desired. I suspect that my grip is not strong enough. There are other alternatives for installing snaps without using a device that requires gripping and squeezing. For example, there is a device that works with a household hammer where you "sandwich" the fabric and the snap and hit it with the hammer.

I purchased this to make diapers and unpaper towels. My biggest disappointment was that while advertising 100 Kam snaps AND the Kam Pliers. I only received the pliers. No Kam snaps at all. Amazon was wonderful resolving the issue, which is great. However, I didn't have my Kam snaps in time to finish the diapers I was working on and the baby who the diapers were for, was born before I could get my refund, go to the store and repurchase what was missing. So, you may not want to risk it if you have an order to complete immediately because it's a roll of the dice. Happy that Amazon resolved the problem, but didn't help with the timing of my project. Just getting the complete order in the first place would have been better. :(

This was good for the price. There are absolutely zero instructions. The "sizes" on the actual machine are not marked on the snaps themselves. Basically you'll need to match them by hand. Several of the snaps broke during installation and several have come apart on my projects. Thankfully these were cheap enough that I can replace them many times over. I will go with the name brand for my next purchase though. I couldn't sell the projects to others knowing the snaps are unreliable. These would be recommended for small home crafts or a child's beginner set up.

I bought this based on "easy to use". If you have the grip strength of a gorilla it might be easy to use. I am very disappointed. I have missed the return window, so I am stuck with it.

This is a great way to start with snaps. The pliers is well made and the tutorials on the company's website are a great tool to learn how to secure the snaps when you are first starting out. I hadn't every used snaps and didn't know what sizes I would be needing for various projects so this was a good way for me to figure that out without buying any particular size upfront. Also, I love that the company uses some of the proceeds to care of foster animals - very cool. Thanks!

I disliked the product. No instructions are included; directed to YouTube for instructions. Before starting to use the product, I viewed both the basic and secondary videos. The plastic snaps break when pressure is applied. I returned the product after two frustrating days and sixteen broken snaps. I have one completed snap for my efforts. Clearly this product did not meet my expectations.

The plunger doesn't press down the center enough to allow both sides to snap together which makes this product completely useless. I am returning and asking for a refund. The pictures of the snaps are also deceiving, granted I should have read the description more thoroughly, there are not enough in any one bag to make a multi-snap diaper, and the socket part of the snap appears to just be a larger version of the stud as opposed to an actual socket. Completely disappointed.

These snaps are really easy to use. They are fairly sturdy. I've used them for several kids items and crafting I have done. At first, I did not realize that there were several different sizes of snaps, and initially used the wrong push plate on the clamp, which cracked the snap. Eventually, I realized my mistake, and have no issues since then. This set comes with a great set of primary colors, as well as white snaps.
