Fire DVD - Fireplace XXL Filmed in HD - 2 DVD Set with Double Extra Long Fires and Burning Wood Sounds

Bought as a gift for someone, unsure about how it would be received.Please believe me, it is way ahead of the alternative electric fire with a bit of painted plastic with a light bulb underneath and a motor of some kind or other.The constantly changing natural fire and flames are mesmerizing but the crackle of wood instead of the whine of a fan is the icing on the cake. Put the central heating on and you can almost feel the heat of the fire. We have a 19" LCD TV in front of the existing fireplace (raised to the height of the fire bed by the DVD player) and the effect is really impressive. There is no way my wife is going back to the old electric fire, which, though nice, was comparatively noisier and took up considerably more space. However, a word of caution – this DVD can make you ‘nod off’.It comes as 2 DVDs with 2 ‘fires’ on each; all of them being ‘log’ fires. The menu system is a little clumsy and old fashioned, especially to access the second of the 2 fires; but for the few seconds it takes to set up, when you first switch on, is only a minor irritation. There is optional music but, as TV viewers, we found it monotonous and intrusive; it may appeal to those people who are readers or jigsaw puzzlers and like some background sound. Three of the fires, though nice and effective, are very similar; our personal favourite, the fourth, is more of a roaring fire. It is all down to personal choice. I intend going for the earlier DVD with a larger number of (log) fire effect choices. However, even with that we will still be missing the one thing that we would like – a good, old fashioned, English coal/coke fire. The current choice is either log fires or modern gas through pebbles, very pretty but not quite the same.If you have central heating of some kind this DVD is a real centrepiece/focal point and, for us, utilises a TV and DVD player which were effectively ‘spares/backups’ and can still revert to their intended purpose if necessary.I heartily recommend this DVD (and/or its companion) it is highly effective, well produced and offers an enormous amount of contentment at a very reasonable price.Ps. Bring on the coal version.........please!pps. Even Gary (the cat) approves, and he is difficult to please.

We were going away for the New Year and wouldn't have a real fire where we were staying so I bought this DVD and it was fantastic - it made the room feel warm and welcoming. Wonderful quality and a real feel good factor.

These are lovely and authentic, with a real feel for the past. Sounds silly but you can almost imagine the warmth on your face as you sit back and watch. Post Christmas dinner, an ideal setting for a snooze and a glass of something festive.

Good choice of fires. The images fill the screen very well and are very realistic from blazing to the dying embers. Perfect to curl up with on a dull afternoon with a story CD (not supplied- you need to get your own!) or your favourite music, the cat, afternoon tea and biscuits. Gives a lovely feeling of warmth and comfort. I wouldn't want to face the winter without my fire! Very prompt delivery.

Lovely DVD, hearing the flames crackling was so nice. Just right for relaxation, I could even imagine I was feeling warmer! Great that you have a choice of fires to choose from.

My first purchase of anything like this. It is fabulous. If I like it now in summer, how much more will I like it in winter? Very pleased.

A wonderful relaxing afternoon spent watching this during the cold weather. Have watched it many times.

Super fires with realistic sound effects.

I'm an early riser. Put this on for the 1st time on Dec. 30, 2023 and watched disc 1 before, during and after my Bible readings. I am very pleased. Just now ordered two of Tony's underwater videos. For anyone who wants time to contemplate whatever is on their minds, I HIGHLY recommend. Can't wait till next year to play with my Christmas music (I'm the when Christmas is over things are put away kinda gal). Can't wait till 1/4/24 when my new ones arrive. I have been looking a long time for a DVD that has beautiful fireplaces with crackling sound and I found it in this DVD set. It has 2 discs that can be played with the crackling sound or with music. It also has the option to play either the same fireplace or all of them, which continuously runs until you turn it off. This has helped me to sleep better at night. Very high quality recording. LOVE IT!
