This series by Mr Powell is truly excellent and I've enjoyed every single book. The latest volume in particular gives a fantastic twist to the War of the Worlds with our brave and indefatigable Victorian forebears unleashing weapons of mass destruction back at the Martians. Take that, you Martian fiends! Can't wait for the next volume.

Great book really good story a must read for fans of War of the Worlds

I have read all the books in this series and they just get better. We have the French professor from Thunder Child with his germs, the Clackmannnanshire soldiers and the Bengal Lancers. It's a fight to the end to get hold of the the barrels that transport the Martians back to the red planet. Well written, excellent characters and a gripping read. Highly recommend!

Read each book in the series so far and never a disappointment. Could not put it down and had to binge read it because as with all his works it was bloody brilliant! Damn hoping there's another one on the way!

Great book to read and a great add to the War of the Worlds

The Character's are as usual memorable. The plot is full of surprizes. If you loved the last days of Thunderchild, this is better. Another masterpiece from Britain's leading storyteller. I read it in two days, I could not wait for the next page. Awesome writing.

I've now bought and read all of Last Days series, and enjoyed them all. The style of writing is almost Victorian with no sex or swear words. One can only hope that another one follows.
