A great read from begin to end.
This remarkable true story about an airman and his dog in World War 2 deserves to be made into a film. Its that good.

Wonderful story but badly written
I bought this book because I like dogs and because my father flew with Bomber Command throughout the war so I have an interest in anything so related. This I found to be a great story, but the author does not know how to tell it. Everything is very over dramatised, to the extent where it is left to the reader to sort out the wheat from the chaff. I nearly gave up, but did get through the entire story, though after the airman/dog owner finished his operational tour, it was very shallow. Overall, if, like me, you really want to know the story, buy it. But if you want a well written story, don't !

Incredible true story 5* book
I was recommended this book by my colleague and I absolutely loved it. I haven't read a book for a while and I just could not this put this book down swallowing every word, page and chapter. Incredible friendship, bravery, sacrifice of Robert and Antis. I was sobbing by reading this book, I admire them both and all young men who sacrificed their lives during WWII. They were so young and for what they did, for our freedom I'm eternally greatful.
