I sent this to my friend. She used with a child one evening. People from other reviews had recommended rubbing alcohol and we found it was the best for fuel. I bought other fuel but that made things get smokey. My friend has enjoyed using this a few times already & has said she enjoys it. Nice for having inside or outside.

Nice tabletop piece for ambiance on a chilly evening. Doesn't give off a ton of heat since it's not a super large flame. But a nice piece for roasting marshmallows and enjoying the fall evenings. Nice to have the pit cover to protect the cotton from the elements when it's not in use.

I recently purchased this item because we do not have a firepit near our patio, and wanted something to supplement our cooler nights in the colder seasons.This item was extremely easy to assemble, basically it came prepared except for the glass sides. The quality of the core piece is comparable to the metal you'd feel on a tiki torch.The only thing I find questionable is the actual burn part... I ended up using a full "bowl" of isopropyl alcohol to burn in the unit, which lasted about 25-30 minutes. However, I'm not sure this would be safe to use for roasting marshmallows? It came with a snuffer (which was helpful to put out the fire) and 2 roasting sticks, but I don't know how I feel about "roasting" food over isopropyl alcohol. Another thing is that the cotton on the inside of the burner unit... how can that be replaced?Anyway, it does what it's supposed to, and my friends really seemed to love it when I brought it out to show off at our last get-together on our patio. If you don't have the funds for a big propane fire pit, this little device will do the trick!
