Architecture The Roman Colosseum Building Set; Collectible Model for Adults; Compatible with Lego, (3989Pieces)

I'm a big Lego Architecture fan but it seems Lego has been somewhat reluctant to release new sets in this theme. So I took a chance with this non-Lego set. The assembly of the Colosseum facade was a bit frustrating as each relatively small section (and there are more than 25 of them) each consisted of as many as 50 very small pieces. As the fit of the pieces is not up to Lego standards and some required a fair amount of pressure to securely connect, I had to redo quite a few of the sections after they fell apart (or literally exploded!) if I put too much pressure on them during assembly. However, the finished product is quite detailed and a very impressive display piece. I'm very impressed with this set as well as the Acropolis set from the same manufacturer, which I've also built. Instructions are clear (wish they could be made available online, like Lego Builder) and there was only one missing piece (which I was able to find in my spare Lego bricks) out of almost 4000 total pieces. And you can't beat the price (<3 cents a brick). I hope Givenni continues to bring to market new sets of this high quality. Highly recommended.

I saw mixed reviews before I bought, but everything turned out great. I enjoyed this a ton and think it looks awesome. It was definitely a time consuming and challenging build, but if you like those types of things I would recommend this. I may even end up getting another one some day so I can connect them. No missing pieces.

I'm about 2/3 the way through in assembling this model and, so far, it's looking good. Not for the faint of heart, take a deep breath, and take your time. The wall assemblies to the Colosseum require a lot of attention to detail, can be a little frustrating, and a little bit of instant adhesive (I know that's cheating but....). The instructions are clear and easy to follow. The parts fit together well but, in some cases, are not tight (hence, the adhesive). NOW TO THE MISSNG PARTS......how the heck do you report and order them?

The first kit ordered was missing the parts needed for the first step. All 16 of the black square bricks for the base were missing. Ordered 2nd kit hoping just had bad luck with the first. 2nd kit had the missing parts, but between both kits still not enough correct parts to get past the first page of instructions. Horrible quality control, returned both kits. Waste of time and money.

My grandson travels out of the USA to different countries every summer with my son. This year my son plans on taking him to Rome this year so needless to say he was very excited to receive this as a birthday gift. Can't wait to see what it looks like when he finishes it!
