Colour mixing
Have just started into the book and am finding it easy to follow, though at times I find it hard to know what colours to substitute with when I dont have a particular colour. Getting nice results nevertheless.

Good inspiration but don't expect it to teach you too much
Inspiring projects are spoiled by follow-along steps that are a bit too vague and seem to consist mainly of telling you what named pigments to mix. As even any beginning artist will know, pigment names and values differ with manufacturer, so such lists of colour are of limited use. If you want to learn about mixing colour, get a good book on colour theory, practise colour mixing, then you might enjoy attempting some of the projects in this book. Overall, not a bad source of inspiration, but I didn't learn a great deal.

It is a great book which should help me with trying to paint sea-scapes and make the water and shoreline look more natural than what I have been painting. It is a great help to any aspiring painter who like me an enthusiastic amateur. It is written in an easy to read style.
