Very effective once you get the hang of it
At first it seems like the gyroscope ball doesn't work properly. You wind it up (with your thumbs) and let it go, trying to spin it in your hand, but it just slows down and stops. Don't give up; after a few (ok, a lot) of tries, I finally got it to spin faster, and faster, and keep on going. When it does this, the ball lights up and the lights seem to flash, but most of all you can feel the force of the ball spinning.A few minutes of this a day really gives you wrists a workout. Hold on tight, it really builds up a strong pull that could yank it out or your hand.I'm a guitarist, but my wrists are weak, and after playing guitar for while they can be very sore. Since using the powerball, I feel like my wrists are stronger and I could go on playing without any strain.Like I said, at first it seems like something's wrong with the powerball, but after a bit of trial and error, you'll get it to work for you. I still sometimes need to start it 4 or 5 times before I get it spinning fast. I'd tell you the position or motion you need, but while I can consistently get it up to speed, I couldn't tell you exactly how I do it.Keep trying and you WILL get the hang of it.

A good deal on this hand exercising device
Several years ago a relative of mine, a drummer, showed me one of these things. It was string operated, and he used it to help with hand pain that resulted from hours at the drum set. I found these to be fun to play around with and they help with discomfort in the hands/wrists/forearms. However, I got tired of struggling to get them started by pulling on the little red strings that came with the product, and I was unable to get them going otherwise. So I was happy to see that a few companies seem to sell these with a spring starting mechanism. I took a chance on the Visanol, and I am glad I did. A year and a half later, it is working just fine.

Great for rock climbing!
My boyfriend and I both rock climb several times a week. We’re getting to the point now that we need to start really working on our grip strength and endurance in order to work on some difficult stuff. This subili ball is great! It requires no batteries and you can make it as easy or difficult as you want. The directions said to work with it for 20 mins a day and I can definitely say that I’ve noticed a difference. If you injure your wrist like I have, be sure to take it easy, because this has also made it worse for me. Other than that, I love it! I’ll probably end up buying more as gifts.

A little overpriced but still a good exercise ball
This is a decent product. It’s a little overpriced and the flywheel (gyro mechanism inside) is limited in speed. It does have excellent gyroscopic power, again just lacking in top speed. The colorful lights are a nice touch and use no batteries. It’s fairly simple to use but should come with a few warnings for items getting caught in the underside such as small fingertips, hair, etc.

Great for strengthening wrist after surgery.
We bought this on a recommendation from my daughters OT. My daughter recently had wrist surgery and needs help building up strength to return to Color Guard. This trainer has worked wonders for her building up endurance and strength for the repetitive wrist movements needed for flag and weapon spinning. Plus her littleBrothers think it’s fun to play with too! A word of caution based on a lesson learned from them, be careful not to touch it your skin when the internal ball is spinning ..... leaves one heck of a burn to your skin.

Fun and challenging
I just got this today. It's a lot of fun, actually. I am developing some kind of pain in my hands, maybe from arthritis, so I wanted to strengthen them to maybe help. My husband recommended something like this gyroscope ball.At first I had a really hard time keeping it going. It takes a bit of practice. But already, after playing with it on and off for the evening, I think I'm getting the hang of it. I can feel my muscles in my hands all the way up to my biceps and triceps, getting a workout.I like that I can just push on the inside ball to wind it up. And the LEDs make it really fun. I love that they get brighter the faster you make it go.It seems very well made. It doesn't feel cheap at all. It's also heavier than I thought it would be. But the inner ball is metal so, of course it would be. But that also makes it a better workout.I highly recommend this so far! :)

Excellent (after i learned how to work it!)
UPDATE: I. WAS. WRONG.:( I googled videos under Subili Ball and found a video that showed how to use it and on first try, i was successful. I'd recommend the seller include a video (ok, maybe that's just for me).had one of these years ago that started with a string (like a rip cord). I used it regularly and saw great improvement in wrist and hand strength. This one does not work that way and I have not been successful in getting it started. Will return or request a replacement.

Don't bother
My thumbs have arthritis so using them to get this started hurt. It took about 15 "pushes" to get it started, but it was a weak rotation and ended in 15-20 seconds. I tried multiple times and it did not get better.
