I love this 2001 compilation album so much, it's a snapshot from mid '70's to mid '80's, every track is great in its own way - Hall & Oates' sound always takes me back to a simpler and more carefree time. Track 1, Sara Smile, is a smooth soulful love song from 1975, it fair boggles the mind that it's 40yrs old! Track 2, Rich Girl, is more upbeat, but still seriously soulful, with a great little riff, and their harmonies, here and everywhere are always on point. Track 3, It's A Laugh, it's more rocky, puts me in mind of an old Elton John sound sometimes. Hall & Oates' music over the years spans soul, rock, pop, blues & funk. I reckon if you like one or two of their songs it computes you'll pretty much like them all. I'm not so into their cover of "You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling", but overall, this really is The Very Best of...I bought this very good condition disc from zoverstocks as a replacement, I lost my original a few years ago. I always start this album with the super-funky Track 9, "I Can't Go For That", repeat it a few times as I really CAN go for that, get stuck on Track 11, "Maneater" for a bit, the sax on both those tracks is pure delicious, then play it on through. A great cd for a sunny afternoon...

So you listened to Maneater by Nelly Furtado and thought "ooooooh that's catchy"?! Well yes, it was a good tune that she's added her Iberian edge to. But the original by Hall & Oates is a true classic...as is I Can't Go For That...Private Eyes...You Make My Dreams...so many great tracks on one album and you suddenly realise how big Daryl Hall & John Oates were back in the late 70s and early 80s. Six no.1s in the US no less!

Great cd from the eighties, good quality no scratches

Yeah, the album cover photo is awful and when you buy it it's like it's been shot in the most perfect HD because you can see the pores in the skin and everything but I guess that's really not an issue. This album holds a special place in my heart because it's brilliant. Like I have it in the car all the time and I do my revision to it because it's sing along fun but it's also relaxing coolness. It's a good buy. And seriously, who can not love You're Making My Dreams Come True?

Bought this for my son as a birthday gift,,he loves it! It’s a very good compilation of their hits! A great choice for any Hall &Oates fan!
