Best descaler i have found so far! Living in a hard water area, we suffer from heavy scale build up and this really does keep it at bay and clear any build up.Word of warning: you know how many products say "Use in a well ventilated room" or "wear PPE (Facemasks) and you just get on with it anyway? DON'T IGNORE THIS WARNING!!!! The fumes literally take your breath away!! Using this in close confines of a shower cubicle as i have done, i had to wear a face mask and safety glasses, i dont suffer from any respiratory disorders at all & boy did i gasp for air; someone with asthma would really be adversely affected. However saying that, the fumes do dissipate quite quickly but when applying they are very strong. But whatever the active ingredient it is, it works brilliantly - this really is heavy duty/industrial stuff that really works. I transfer to a trigger gun for large areas and one spritz over, leaving it for 20 minutes really does get the job done. Works wonders on kettles, irons, taps etc too

I bought this to see if it would clear a stubborn limescale block in a bathroom pipe. Nothing else had worked, even the plumber couldn't fix it. But this stuff did! Its not really designed for that, but it certainly worked. It needed several applications, but now the limescale block has gone. I used some on my kettle and it worked like a dream there too. Recommended.

This stuff works brilliantly! Easy application, 10 mins and the kettle shines. Wow.

Ok, I did receive a leaking bottle of this stuff but Amazon dealt with this issue in their usual, efficient way. There was enough of the liquid left to try, however. So the question is: does it work? Well, yes it does, on some limescale. Let me be more specific. I have some taps that have become enveloped by crusty deposits of limescale. I painted the liquid on the taps with an old paint brush and left for an hour or so. Some of the deposits came off after wiping with a cloth, so I reapplied. A bit more came off, but there are still deposits left which are resistant to even my scrubbing with a hard toothbrush. I might try again, but I suspect this is as good as it gets. It seems to perform better on kettles, coffee machines and other appliances. Now, I’ve used all different kinds of limescale removers and I can’t honestly say that this has performed significantly better than less caustic formulas. Indeed, I found the stench on this stuff pretty unbearable. So much so I had to wear a face mask whilst I was applying the liquid to the taps. Admittedly, though, there is little ventilation in my small upstairs bathroom. But do take care if you are using this. A mask and gloves are a good precaution. Keep kids and pets away from areas where this is applied and wipe down thoroughly afterwards with soap and water or antibacterial spray. If your limescale is more of a mild irritant than a major problem, use something more environmentally friendly and plant based. Only use this as a last resort, it really is quite toxic if used incorrectly.

Moved into a new house 5 months ago and couldn’t shift the brown limescale marks from the upstairs toilet pan. Tried everything including scrubbing it to within an inch of its life. I was recommended this stuff but was doubtful it would make a difference. Put a small amount in the pan and left for a few hours maximum. The limescale has vanished as if by magic. I never review on things but this stuff is amazing!!

Used this before for our coffee machine and its perfect and much cheaper than branded descalers.

Product is excellent but do wish they wouldn’t use Evri as their delivery, as they are dreadful, they said they handed it directly to me, but they left it at another address entirely .

This item arrived in a sturdy package - important given the acidic nature of the contents. The instructions, constraints (i.e. when / where you shouldn’t use the product) and safety precautions are clearly set out on the bottle and are straight-forward to follow. I used the product to descale 3 toilet pans and one hand basin. Each treatment used approx 200ml of the product I.e. 800ml in total - leaving c200ml of the original 1000ml remaining in the bottle. I started by donning sturdy rubber gloves and using a loo brush to push most of the water from the bottom of the pan. I then opened the bathroom window and tipped a full kettle of hot water into the loo - with hindsight, I believe a jug of hot tap water would likely have worked just as well. Next I poured in approximately 200ml of the product into the pan. You could measure out exactly 200ml into a jug but the product bottle is a simple cylinder and is near transparent so it’s reasonably straight forward to judge when you’ve poured c200ml. Once poured, a lot of fizzing goes on in the bottom of the pan and acrid fumes are emitted. Therefore, stand back as soon as you’ve poured and let the fresh air from the window disperse the fumes. After, c 5 minutes and a quick and gentle brush and flush, the stubborn lime scale had completely disappeared from the bottom of the pan. Had tried using products from supermarkets previously but found them no match for lime scale inherited from previous home owner. In summary, a highly effective product that yes requires careful use but which provides great value for money
