Quite frankly, a useless product
Just to provide some context behind my review, I was trying to find a product that would replace the roadangel device that sat on my dashboard that would display the speed my vehicle was travelling at, in miles per hour, due to my vehicle being an import and having it's odometer in kilometres per hour. Unfortunately the roadangel device had been pinched and I was left needing a display for the speed of my vehicle in mph.Upon searching for replacements, this device seemed to be a good and much cheaper alternative. The speed camera alerts were a bonus, but my main purpose from this device was to display the speed my vehicle was travelling at in mph.Upon receiving the device and installing, I noticed that there was a subscription that was required, the first year being free as a form of gift or incentive by the company. I thought it may have been like my previous device, the road angel which also came with a subscription, but this was just for the extra features such as speed camera alerts, etc. once that subscription expired, you could still use the basic functionality of the speed monitor. The saphe on the other hand, does not function, even as a basic speed monitor, without a subscription, but also, (and here is the real dealbreaker for me) does not function without a connected phone with GPS/location enabled and power save switched off.So to put this into context, in order for the saphe device to even function in it's most basic sense, you are required to download an app, synch with the saphe device, disable power saving mode whilst using the app to ensure your phone doesn't shutdown the app or relegate it to a background service, and have your phone running to have this saphe device provide speed monitoring and speed camera warnings. Now, I'm not sure how this device really made it out of the planning stages of product development, due to the fact that I can do all of the things the saphe can do, but just with my phone. My main purpose was that I didn't want my phone on and I definitely want it running an app that is forcing it to remain on and not enter a power saving state, just to run another device. Why would anyone opt for this device, when it forces you to have your phone on? When I could just have the same functionality by just omitting the saphe device, it's app, it's yearly subscription, and instead just use an app like Waze that provides all of the same functionality as the saphe device? I genuinely do not understand the purpose of this device, I'd be more than happy for the company to explain what it does over and above the scenario I just described above about using just my phone with Waze. This is a badly thought out product that forces you to include phone and subscription, and questionable power settings, for which you might as well ditch the saphe and keep your phone running without the saphe app and subscription but just have an app like Waze running.

Useful kit
Relatively inexpensive compared to Road Angel but relies on having the Saphe app on your phone to get your GPS details and send you alerts.I’m fickle with most technology and often get rid of things if they don’t do what they say on the tin. This for now is a keeper.Used in conjunction with Waze in the car. Didn’t pick everything thing up re mobile cameras at roadworks or speed adjustments.but it wasn’t wildly out and I found it a really useful addition for long distance driving,Setup is straightforward regarding pairing with the app. The mount for the car is easy to setup. Battery lasts once fully charged for several days. Easy to remove the unit to charge.App as settings where notification alerts can be adjusted re sounds. Thus you can limit if it feels like it’s too much ;-)Too early to say how often app will be updated for a refreshed database but so far, so good.I’d recommend giving this a try. Certainly useful when used with a sat-nav in-built in the car or a standalone one.

Small, rechargeable, and clearly displays the speed limit.
This device is absolutely perfect for my needs. I wanted something that was small, didn't need to be wired, that displays the actual speed limit of the road that I'm on. I wasn't particularly bothered with camera warnings. This device ticks all the boxes and more. It's rechargeable with a great battery life so no wires. It clearly displays the speed limit of the road I'm on, and the actual speed I'm doing. It beeps twice if I accidentally go above the speed limit.

SAPHE DRIVE PRO- great value for money
Having just returned a Road Angel as it didn’t pick up the entire A3 50MPH which has been under construction for over2 years which I use 2-4 times a week thought I would take a gamble on this. Not only does it pick up all the speed limits so far including 20MPH. It’s so small I’ve just placed it in front of the speedo which is ideal. 2 things that make this a great product -1 the battery has lasted 3 days without needed to be charged unlike Road Angel that requires being plugged in. No additional subscription for the first 12 months. For the money an absolute steal

Well it small and works... most of the time
I bought the pro car system, with free 12 months subscription both for the speed cameras and road speed limits. Whilst the speed camera part works for fixed cameras, variable speed is lacking and so are mobile cameras. I have spoken to Saphe, who assures me the camera database is updated on a regular basis but does require the user to identify new locations that are not in the database, similar to Waze.Road speed limits, again this is flawed, A and M roads are fine as well as some B roads, local streets, however, are not covered and around me, lots of these are 20 mph.I do find it hard to understand that a unit designed and advertised to provide this information, simply doesn't all the time, yet Google Maps, Waze etc does perfectly all the time.So this is not perfect here in the UK but maybe is in Denmark where it was originally developed, so will I keep it.... The jury is still out but if you understand its failings, its ability to run on the internal battery for many days, then for the money it's probably worth it, just about...

Flawed, save your money, does not do what it promises
Simple to set up but massively flawedBought this, hoping that it would help me with advance notice of cameras alongside speed limit changes. It does the later well, as for speed camera warnings its hopeless. Waze is far better and I am going back to that. Its database is out of date and it even misses fixed cameras that have been in situ for years.Waste of money.
