I have read all of Charlie and Linda Bloom's books, and this one is every bit as good as the others. This book is written in the Bloom's usual straightforward way, with honesty and wit. Like most married couples, I went into marriage with many myths, most of which I was not even aware. This book helped me to see that although I have let go of many myths, I still have some after 32 years of marriage. Now I can work on debunking those, which is really good news!. I can see that belief in some of these myths have been the root cause of some struggles.I have given Charlie and Linda Bloom's book "101 Things I Wish I Knew When I Got Married" as an engagement gift countless times. I am now going to give a "box set", combining "101 Things..." with this one. I cannot think of a better book for couples to use to start conversations about their views on marriage. If you are thinking about marriage or married already, this book belongs on your nightstand.

This book is spot on. We married late and after divorces. We were told we could have an ordinary relationship or and extraordinary one. We created the most incredible relationship without the help of this book. It would have taken years off our search and the joy comes from the idea we can pass this on through the family now. I got it because we are always looking for authentic, well written thoughts and ideas to put into action and there are so many books that are only superficial. Great relationships are a process and this confirmed what we know to be true. We are sending this to our six kids so they can review it before we send it to our 17 grandchildren, mostly teens and above. I am buying the rest of your books in a few moments. Great book. Each chapter is a short read that highlights an area worth reflecting on with your marriage, places easy to go off track without noticing. I pick it up, open to any chapter, spend a few minutes reading and then am re-inspired as well as re-oriented back to what I really want from my marriage and how to get there.
