OEX Bobcat Ultra Lightweight Quick Pitch 1-Person Tent

A great tent for the money, it’s been on a few trips now throughout the Scottish Highlands and I’ve had it in snow, rain and hot weather, dealt with each very well!I am 6 foot 2 and fit in it almost exactly in length with just enough room by my side for my border collie. It’s not quite as light as I was hoping but still much lighter than my last tent and it packs down nicely too with space for lots of other things in my rucksack!I would recommend this tent to anyone looking for a nice all round 1 man tent! There are nicer/better tents on the market but this suits me and is affordable too. One more thing... the pole is definitely quite hard to get in to the second loop but this gets better the more you pitch it, instead of forcing it try getting more fabric pushed along the pole and it should work on the second attempt. You do have to be quite forceful with it though so if you doubt your strength maybe look for a different tent!

Purchased the Bobcat 1 as I needed a small packable tent for wild camping, pack's down really small. 5000 HH sold it for me, I've read post that this is very small if your over 6 foot but I am 5,6 and this fulfils my needs, the sleeping area is perfect but the porch is massive. Used it a couple of times and cannot fault, better than a bivvi and these small low tents you see. Price is perfect too. A good product.

Packs away very small. If you separate the tent poles and the pegs and you put it into a compression bag it can be super tiny. Only weighs 1.7kg on my scales.Vestibule is nice and spacious. Enough room to put your backpack or cooking stuff.There are some downsides, but they're so minor. The back of the tent has no connector/toggle so it droops down a little making the sleeping compartment less spacious. It's fine though, this is not a big tent by any means! so don't expect it to feel spacious inside.The other issue you might have is if you're tall. I'm 5'11 and I'd say that I'm definitely pushing it. My feet touch the end and I have to actively make sure my head is as far up the sleeping area as possible to give myself room. Luckily I tend to naturally curl up in the night so it's not much of an issue for me. I do think anyone over 6ft should go for something else though, especially if you're a back sleeper that likes to straighten out.For me though this has been a perfect light tent for backpacking.

I would give this tent a five, for quality for my first night in it (last night)... It rained, with a little wind... No issues.. On taking it down this morning, I found a bent section in the pole (picture enclosed), gutted, when I thought the tent was so good... However, I will be using it again, if the supplier sends a replaced pole.. I have emailed the seller for details of 10 section replacement, as Amazon seem to only or 11 ... Awaiting reply.. will up date.. Happy Camping

It is impossible to locate the pole into the eyelet loop . So I could not use this tent for its first night out tonight. I am an experienced camper.I am returning the product to ultimate -outdoors and will post the outcome
