Lacoste Men's Ansted Driving Style Loafer

Let's start with the good.Craftmanship is superb.Design is superbThe interior surface is smoothed and carefully crafted to ensure that nothing will hurt or cause problems.Now the badThey don't give alittle more room as you would expect literally any loafer to do from the start. You could wear this for a year and with the exception of the middle stitching giving way, there is no breaking this in.The fault lies in the center stitching itself. When locking the middle of a loafer with a metallic plate, the stitching should be such to maximize the width to share the strain for both the stitching and the metal plate. It doesn't. This is sadly a very old design flaw that has been addressed in newer designs but not in this brand. Instead they go with the old school tightening in using the stitching and rely on you to break that in and stretch it over time until you reach the stretch ti the plate. Given that this design doesn't allow any stretch this doesn't occur so you are left with a show that is 1/8 yo 1/4 inch to tight from both sides smack in the middle of your foot.Getting a larger size doesn't solve the solution for this design either since going up a half size leaves the width the same and just increases its overall length.Lacosta doesn't manufacture wide size options. Given their quality and craftsmanship, if they would offer a single W option they would dominate the market for driving loafers.What a shame. What shoe.Shoes are a pain to manufacturer. I get that. Which is why you do it right or don't do it at all. Simply relying on a slice of the pie from those with perfectly sized feet makes for a poor business strategy. One of the most returned items possibly in existence. So why not get it right? Why not offer a wide size option and take the added risk and cost. 3rd, 4th and 5th party purchase retailers are always in need of returned product and while you initially take a hit, overtime returns would be less often and they would only dominate the market. Truly unique in style compared to other companies Lacosta seems to be on the right track but we can see there room for improvement.Let's talk cost.I get paying for a name a premium price and with this quality and craftmandhip its totally worth it. But a shoe has to fit. Coblers need new tools and approaches at Lacosta to improve upon there designs. Meanwhile a 30 dollar driving loafer from China not only fit perfectly, and I mean to perfection but it was premium grade coblering, excellent string materials, precision made and fit like a glove. Even with my slightly wider feet they have the technics knowledge to make a show that provides the right give in the right place to fit perfectly and they didn't offer a wide size option either.Hope this helps my wide feet humans out there. Amazing design and you have great taste to choose this loafer but beware. If you're know to have wide feet, even slightly like mine, this superman string loafer won't give a cm...

Leather on bottom scrap the ground

These are so comfortable. It’s my first time wearing these. And I like them. However, when i ordered this item I was staying at a hotel. The Amazon delivery guys left the package outside infront of the hotel on the ground instead of dropping it off to the front desk attendant. And put on the app left at front porch. It’s a hotel. I don’t think that was acceptable at all. That was very unprofessional and unsafe. How can I trust Amazon to deliver my packages safely after this if they’re employing this kind of employees.

I am a shoe hound. I especially like leather drivers. Italian leather shoes are my favorite. This is a good looking, versatile and well made shoe. They are a bit narrow. Still I’m very pleased with my purchase. The French know their way around a shoe as well.

Updated review. I currently own four pairs of these loafers in different colors. They are the most comfortable and stylish shoes to wear on casual work days and weekends. I have pink, light blue, red be blue/white. My plan is to eventually own all colors. I’m a super fan.First off they came a day earlier than expected so that was exciting. I ordered the natural (pink) suede and they look terrific! I am a lady but I ordered this shoe because it comes in larger sizes and I wear men’s 10.5. The fit is great and consistent with all of my other Lacoste shoes. The inner cushion is nice and feels like I’m walking on a light springy pad. I am definitely ordering more in other colors. This is a very comfortable shoe.

Great craftsmanship, amazing leather (don't know what material they used but it's great). Only thing is that it fits too tight. I don't think it's a true US size. It feels like it fits a little more than a half size too small than the size suggested. The plate on the top doesn't give, so it pushes down on your foot.

Attention, il sont un leuplus petit que les Lacoste Régulier. Prenez 1/2 point plus grand. Sinon ils sont absolument magnifique!

The shoe hurts the back of my feet.My size is 8. I ordered 8.5. The size was okay, but it was hurting my thumb and the back of my feet.Going to return it.
