Best for small things, tarts, mini pies, fondant
Doesn’t seem durable, thin my fault for not going through the details but I don’t foresee myself using it.Update: moving up 2 stars Company contacted me about the product, it’s been sometime since purchasing but to be fair I never emailed them, they just wanted to know if they could help based on my review.I am a baker, I use different rolling pins daily, French style is my favorite and this shape is similar no handles I like that. I found it a bit light weight and slim when I first opened it I truly didn’t feel I’d be able to use it for much, the best use for it was mini tart dough, mini pies, vol-au-vent puff pastry pieces( not for Smashing/smoothing the butter out, after the dough had set and easy to be used ) and raviolis. Small detailed even the fragile baking things this is handy useful, pizza dough/ cinnamon roll dough I prefer my larger heavy roller. When I’m done using this I rub down with flour, wipe it clean with a cloth, apply oil to a cloth and wipe down the roller again. Ive has it just shy of a year, I use it regularly a few times a week. I don’t smash it off things or use it for tough dough. It’s good for the small things, and light weight enough for detailed fragile pieces!

Don't forget to oil first!
I forgot to do this and pulled it out to roll a fairly sticky dough. Whoops! No go, the dough was glued to the porous, dry wood. Thank goodness I could pull out my old rolling pin, and had no trouble rolling out the dough with that. I've now oiled the new one and will do it a few more times before trying to use it again.Otherwise, the pin feels good to me, not too thick of a diameter for my small hands. Note that this pin is fairly smooth but with just enough texture to hold some flour rubbed on before you start rolling out. My old one didn't do as well at that because it is very smooth.

Good for the money
It's a wooden stick. It's pretty hard to mess up. Works fine, cleans up fine, stores a little easier than one with handles. Doubles as a weapon.

No for dough, but found a different use for it
I bought this to use for it's intended purpose -- to roll out dough for pizza and dumplings. It's too light for that; a heavy rolling pin is what you need for that. But I put together a lot of jigsaw puzzles and then glue them to hang on the wall. I thought I could use this to flatten the finished puzzle before gluing to make sure all the pieces are snug in the spaces. Works pretty well! The roller squeaks, which gets annoying, but I am getting some use from it, so no regrets.

This Happy Baker gives two giant thumbs up! Beautiifully smooth and exactly the right length
I felt completely in control of my biscuit dough which is incredible considering it has more bounce than the pie dough. I have never had my own rolling pin. I have used many but couldn't decide on one so this was a risky purchase. It did not disappoint at all! I was amazed that I was able to push the dough into the exact shape I wanted....and so happy I selected this one. It is completely smooth and washed up great. I am hopeful over time it will just keep getting better and not crack...check back in about 10 years and I'll let you know ;)

Other use
I bought this to use in my massage room. I wanted a cold "bambo" stick and while this is not bamboo it works just as well for what I need it for.

Wood shavings?!
The media could not be loaded. Be careful when using this roller, especially on food! I noticed alot of little wood(?) shavings coming out from the middle of the roller! That's not safe. You can tell from the video on what I meant. Normally the shavings pile up and falls out from the side after awhile but I shook it out to better showcase what I meant. The video was filmed after alot of shavings already appeared before. Also very squeaky when rolling it. Otherwise the item functions as it would if the shavings arent a concern...

Good size too long pain for small size pastries
What I was looking for. I use it to make pastry that I have been selling and did not fail me.I have just noticed that surface is quite rough that makes it hard to clean when rough stocks on it. I have to.use bench scrapers to take it off. But all together it works perfectly.

It is OK for the value
It is a good rolling pin for the value. I already used it and didn't have any problems. Exactly what one could expect if buying on bugged. It could be more smooth, but I think either I can do it with the sanding paper or just use few more times. I had one older, heavy, short and smooth, and was not too happy. This one covers more surface at the same time and it rolls well.

It's smooth and does the job
Exactly what it says it is. Although I found out that the lady on the cooking blog was being a little extra and I could've rolled my dumpling wrappers with the regular bigger pastry roller I already owned. But whatever, it's like 15 bucks

Great purchase
This is perfect for making flat breads and pitas. Very smooth and easy to clean. I'm going to look for another even shorter one to add to my collection.
