The Best Is Yet to Come: A Novel

Made me feel good
The book was predictable and yet enjoyable. I am a Vietnam veteran and my partner has Alzheimer's and I needed something positive to read and this was the best medicine. The writing was well done and the character development is good. There are few surprises and yet it is well worth your time to read this book.

Great story!
The author did a wonderful job showcasing what a lot of veterans go through. She also touched on dog rescue, which is near and dear to my heart. I don't want to give away anything, but I do want to recommend this book.

Another beautiful Macomber story.
As always, the reader gets to know her characters well, their flaws as well as their goodness. There was a lot of insight into the healing processes of the mind, especially Military personnel who have been wounded, both physically and emotionally.

a fresh start
I loved both Cade and Hope's stories as they volunteer at the sameanimal shelter as they both are trying to have a fresh start. The romancewas sweet, but a misunderstanding caused Cade to break up with Hopeand it took more to get them back together. Must read.

Macomber does it again
I enjoyed the different subjects covered throughout the story...animal rescue, veterans, bullying, school politics...all woven in as part of a love story. Read it start to finish day one.

Enjoyed!
Nice story made you think about the sacrifice of our soldiers and veterans. Mixed in with the pressures of high school sports.

light romance
A bit of a twee story where facts have been manipulated to create a story. A gentle read with no bad language or heat. I did get irritated that the whole story is based on his redemption, for dreadful sins, because of a kind judge. No way would Cade have received the threatened penalty for such innocuous crimes. In fact bar owner should have been prosecuted for overserving and no way did Cade in a fight, destroy all the furniture in the bar. His sentence was excessive and overkill. It might serve the story but unrealistic at the outset. It reads a bit like a 1980s romance. Have read loads of author before. They were always what was intended, light romances. This one tried to be a bit deeper.
