A good substitute for the badly made Mede8er remote control
The Remote provided with the Mede8er MED600X3D is poorly made, with rubber buttons which tend to stick in the 'ON' position, locking up the equipment until the offending button can be found and freed. This wireless keyboard is small and neat - it does everything the remote should do and, being a keyboard, it makes data entry much simpler than using the keys on the remote.

Much cheaper alternative available
At first glance its seems a useful accessory but it tries to do much and is a bit messy to use.I then found this on Amazon Rii 174; Mini 2.4GHz Wireless PC Keyboard which is made by the same manufacturer for only £14.75Its a straightforward wireless keyboard with a touchpad rather than a messy trackball. It has a few of the extra functions of the Mede8er model and also has a backlight, lithium polymer re-chargeable battery plus a laser pointer built in.You don't need another remote control, just a keyboard and this works perfectly. If you want another remote just use the Apple/IOS app.BTW any USB keyboard and mouse (wireless or cable) will work with the Mede8er X3D range. Just that wireless is much more convenient

It's ok
The keyboard might be a big fiddly for anyone with fat fingers but otherwise does the job. It's a little unfair of me to dock stars from it but I've found that there's some issues with the Medi8tor boxes that this keyboard works with. Not all the apps on the media centre will work with the keyboard which kind of negates the need for having the keyboard and unlike the remote control this keyboard's "power" button will not wake up the Medi8tor though it will turn it off. So you end up having to have this keyboard in one hand and the Medi8tor remote in the other for when the keyboard won't work with whatever function you're trying to use on the media centre. When it does work, it works well making text entry a lot easier than multi-tapping the remote control.
