Wilson US Open Extra Duty Tennis Ball (Single Can)

I ordered these particular tennis balls for my daughter’s beagle puppy after researching and reading the reviews for lots of tennis balls, lol. The pup is a strong chewer at only four months old, and he hasn’t yet figured out what’s safe to ingest 😊, so I was looking for something super-sturdy and with a nice bounce. My family plays tennis, but did we know which was best for the little guy? Not at all. After researching, I found that this package had good reviews for sturdiness, and the price was definitely right. Got these home and opened the can, and one bounce on the floor was all it took to get little Scout interested. We play fetch outside, bouncing it a lot; we play inside with them in a more relaxed way, and when Scout is relaxing, he does like to chew on them, (as much as will fit into his little mouth). I highly recommend these tennis balls for use with dogs. Of course they need supervision and the balls need inspecting every now and then to be sure nothing is coming loose or could be unsafe. No problem in that aspect so far with these balls. I do always bring any that we’re playing outside with inside when we’re finished playing, rather than let them get wet and grimy and lose their bounce. 💯 do recommend these for dogs, even strong chewers, and they’d be great for tennis as well!

I wanted to buy a few tennis balls for training my new dog, and these are good quality and a very reasonable price. I will say that they have a strong odor from off-gassing when you open the container. If you're also using them for dogs, I'd suggest putting them outside for a day or two so that odor can dissipate.

I am not a tennis player so some people may cringe at this review. I have two large golden retrievers who love to play fetch. Over the years I've spent hundreds of dollars on special toys and balls that were supposed to be rugged and indestructible, specially designed for dogs. Maybe my dogs just talk it as a personal challenge, but they would shred anything I bought, usually in minutes.I was searching Amazon for a "heavy-duty ball" expecting something in pet supplies when these tennis balls popped up. After reading the description I figured it was worth a try. Besides it was far less expensive than the tennis ball look-alikes sold under pet supplies.Much to my surprise the dogs have not destroyed them! After several weeks of hard, daily playing in winter snow and ice the balls are still going strong. They have not punctured any holes in them and they haven't been able to tear the cover off. It's crazy, but these things about lasted anything I've ever found that was made for dogs.

I have a 1yr 4mo old ~63 lb german shepherd mix and she is a SUPER DUPER CHEWER who LOVES fetch. What she doesn't love is dropping a ball (we're working on it). B/c of this, we play with 2 balls, alternating between the two to keep the game going. It's been nearly impossible to find 2 equal-value balls that she can't just break apart (b/c once the rubber inside the ball is broken, that becomes the higher-value ball and she won't give it up).I tried getting a big bag of cheap-o tennis balls thinking it would be a better value, but 2 weeks later she's broken almost all of them (all broken on the first fetch session!) and won't give them up easily. These 3 super duty Wilson balls came this week and it's been SO MUCH BETTER. She can't chomp the ball into dust and she drops them so much easier b/c now SHE wants to keep the game going. I anticipate that these 3 balls will last us well into the future. This is now our fetch-ball of choice.Would HIGHLY recommend for fetch w/ a super chewer!
