SureFire EP8 Sonic Defenders Cobalt Filtered Flanged Earplugs

I am a parts inventory person in a maintenance shop for a food plant where it is required to wear metal detectable wear plugs when walking through certain areas of the plant. These plugs are great for the work I do! I have a vent that is 4ft x 4ft about 20ft from my desk and always running and after 20 mins of seating at my desk and I walk away my ears ring. I bought these because of the claims. When I 1st started wearing them I found the curved end at the top of the earplugs was so big I couldn't wear them so I carefully started trimming it back so I could wear them and then no problem keeping them in. If you go to remove the back cover from the plug be warned the insert does come out! The piece that goes in your ear swivels and I don't know how many times I have tried to put them back in the right position.I have been wearing these earplugs at my desk I can hear the phone ring and hold a conversation, hear people talk to me even in an office setting and I can even talk back to people without getting the wonderful feed back of hearing myself with earplugs in.The case they come in needs to be just a little bit bigger because once you unravel them good luck getting them back in the case.I really think I should had gotten the next size down but that was discontinued which makes no senseBecause these are metal detectable earplugs I would be a nice Idea to supply a copy of the certification on this page, a link to the manufacture or even include it in the packaging. I had to hunt for the certification to give to my employer to be able to wear theses at work. because they had never heard of surefire before.I leave my plugs at work because if I brought them home I would forget to take them with me so I supplied a modified picture of what I did to the earplugs and what swivels.

I got them specifically for shooting ranges cuz my other ear protectors are too big, but these don't really do their job

Use these in a food packaging facility. They work great, fit great, and come in nice little clear containers for storage.

Better than lugging around those bulky earmuffs, but not quite a sound proof, work very well though! Worth a try for this price!

I really like the way these work once they are sealed correctly. I can hear everyone around me and conversations between shoots without pulling them out. There are a couple of glitches however.I didn't need to buy the cobalt version. I thought the higher version number might be a better performing product. Not true. Just different features. Ones I don't need.I had a bad time getting them to seal so I sent the company an Email thinking maybe they'd have a suggestion. Which they did. They suggested I could buy the version for larger ear canals (EP4 or EP7) or go see an audiologist. NOT MUCH HELP!!!Well I finally removed the filters from each stem and took the stoppers off. Then put the filters back in and extended the stem farther through the frame. This gave me a reliable seal. Next set I'll try the EP4. But really... There should be some way to gauge what product you need for your ear canal without spending money to try a pair. Once they've been in your ears no one else wants them and while the price is right they're a little expensive to just throw away and buy another pair.Since I really like the way they work 5 stars for performance, 1 star for customer service, 3 stars because the difference in model number features isn't clear.

Seem to fit nicely,one side worked fine....the other was like i didn't have an earplug in at all! I tried it several times,thoroughly cleaned my ears.no dice....just won't work.total disappointmentand waste of my money.

Fit great and work incredibly well!I keep meaning to order another pair.So much easier to keep track of than separate plugs for each ear.Love the adaptable opening too, such a wonderful option!
