Mutti Double Concentrate Tomato Puree 6 x 140g

Is there any point reviewing tomato paste? Well, I've bought a few brands online, and, for what it's worth, I like this one best. It tastes very good, with none of the off-notes in some cheapo tinned purées I've tried. I can't get tins of tomato paste locally. I prefer tins to tubes. They store more neatly. And sometimes I like to use a whole tin at once, say in a soup or Provençal dish, which is quicker than hassling with tubes. I used to buy the bigger tins, but wasted more that way. Yes, there's salt in Mutti, if that bothers you. But not much, so it's OK with me.

Great price and handy to have a carton of them, add a great depth of flavour and retain the lovely rich colour unlike some other brands. It's also not vinegary, again unlike others and particularly tubes, presumably because you're not reusing and putting it back in the fridge: with these you just open a fresh can when you need it - no more peering suspiciously into the top of a tube to check for mould. I use them for curries, ragus, stews...everything!

Very good quality. Doesnot have that sharp tang you get from a lot of tomato concentrate products. Used it for my pasta dishes and Nigerian jollof rice, stews and soups. Giving it a 4-star because of the price point. I would buy this all the time if it was much cheaper.

As expected

Mutti are the tops when it comes to depth of flavour. I used to buy the tubs of Mutti , however these are much better value in the long run. The taste is so much better then the other popular brands.
