Ease of insalation.
the latch is excelent it took a little filling to enlarge the square hole the latch went through. It workes great I like the internal plate with holes that make it easy to lubricate the internal moving parts and enternal release handel. Great desine.

Very sturdy, nice fit, easy to install.
I purchased this slam latch to install on my motorhome lower compartment door to replace a broken latch and to test as replacement for the others. I was very happy with the latch. It seems very sturdy, fit the opening very well, and was easy to install. I will need an additional 12 latches to replace all of mine and will purchase them as soon as I am able.

It was a different configuration
I ordered for my motor home. I think the #'s were the same but it was a different configuration.So I had to take part's from the new ones and swap to make the old ones work. Pricey and didn't work.

Don't fit mine
Fitting guide leaves much to be desired. I ended having to shim most of the backside to get the unit to even fit half way snug.

Be careful that it fits your application
Received this very well designed slam latch, and compared it to the latches on my 2003 Holiday Rambler motorhome and thought it matched size-wise. I painted the exterior of the latch to match the motorhome, then went to install it. That's when I discovered that the latch piston, on the motorhome is not as wide as this latch. The new latch will not work.Since I have already painted it, I cant ask for a return.My Bad !!Be sure that the Latch.It RV Slam Latch is compatible with your application before painting it!
