This is a great product. I would test it out in your car before updating the adaptor. I updated it then tried it and it did not work. After I removed the update it worked like a charm. Super easy to used just plug in then your car and phone do the rest. I would totally give this five stars if the included cable was longer. The cable is to short to get out of the way for my car. If your car has the car play plug in the center console then I would say this is the one for you. If your car has the plug in under the radio like my car then know that the cable might get in the way of adaptor. It includes a sticky pad but the package does not say if it is safe to use (removable) and I did not want to risk any damage to my interior so use that at your own risk.

It’s great for music and navigation.Jumping in without messing with the charger cable is really great.You will need to use a better adhesive if you’re going to mount that way.Good heavy duty industrial Velcro has stayed in place after many days of 99 degree temps, just clean the surfaces with isopropyl first.Only negative is that it degrades the sound quality of the phone call part of what you’d expect, but honestly, I can deal with it.I also need to make sure to be patient when getting started in the car; let the radio completely power up and start before going into D or R.In Toyota, the factory head unit switching to rear camera seems to interrupt the Bluetooth connection to adapter.Again, it’s fine with me.I’m really enjoying using it.

The device plugs into the same USB port that you would use to connect directly to your phone. (It will not work in my 2019 Mercedes C300 usb in the armrest, for example, because that jack is only for media connection, not carplay. It must plug into the same slot that your phone would use if it were wired. Seriously, it's a piece of cake to set up. The device will provide your iphone with a link wireless to your car if it has carplay via the direct usb connection. Device plugs into the usb you would use to direct connect to your phone. (It will not work for example in my 2019 Mercedes C300 usb in the arm rest as that jack is only to for media connection, not carplay. It must jack in the same slot that your phone would use wired.(This does not give you carplay if it is not built into your car. I don't think any device that you would plug into a usb would provide that)

Try connecting without the upgrade first. I did need to perform the upgrade and worked flawlessly. I also replaced the original tape with a wider 3M auto tape for better adhesion. Connect and works great!
