This is an amazing sword for the money
Excellent show piece, I can't imagine getting a better sword for less the 50 dollars. Everything came in great condition. It was packed very well. It was a gift to my father because we love to watch old sword and sandle movies and it made him extremely happy. It's really otnate and fairly well built. I suppose for those who are buying this as an actual weapon, it's not that. It's a thing of beauty. So if your going to chop trees with it or run mock combat drills running it through a marshall arts manican, you'll certainly going to deface it. So take some photos, hang it on the wall and be happy that you got a good deal on a cool thing.

Can't beat the price
This is a really nicely priced cosplay / larp / display piece sword. It's actually quite accurate in shape and length to a Mainz type Roman Gladius. The orinate look is also quite nice to look at but wouldn't be quite histrically accurate at least for the average legionary. If you are looking for a costume prop this would work best with a higher ranked roman officer like a centurion or legate. This item is not "battle ready" and wouldn't survive any sort of torture test and probably wouldn't be best for reenactment but if you're on a budget (because you spent all your money on the armor, helmet and shield like I did) this is definitely a decent option. I've seen this sword go for $70-$100 on other listings / sites and I can say this is by far the best pricing for this item (sub $50). For anything more you could find a better sword but for a budget option it works well. You can also find a Roman themed dagger using the same orinate design as this gladius on Amazon as well. No clue why they aren't sold as a set.

Very realistic
So, very well made. Heavy. Only issue is the chain for running through a belt is very cheap and breaks quickly due the heaviness of the sword. Tiny holes to attach a chain to as well. Ended up using a few zip ties when the chain broke. The sword is great and very realistic. Just improvise another solution if using a belt. Also note it is too heavy to belt carry for long. Best for a wall mount or display piece and not to carry.

Shiny new sword..
For the price I was surprised how well made it came out and look amazing. And it got some good weight to it as well.I'm happy with it, this will go well with my full metal spartan armor when it ships in.Will update again with sword and armor later...

Fantastic Detail, Workmanship, and Authenticity
I expected a rough facsimile of a Roman short sword, something I could show a class of students to give them an idea of what the weight and shape of this weapon. But boy was I surprised when I opened the superbly packaged item! The attention to detail in both the sword and the scabbard was precise to the actual weapon used by Roman formations. I will be passing the word out to hundreds of period reenactors who will be very interested in testing the weapon's durability and fitment in period uniforms and head dressings/helmets. I highly recommend this company for quality, accurately designed weaponry.

Great Quality, Worth The Price!
This sword is amazing quality and arrived in perfect condition. Seems like the scabbard as well as the chain have been improved since some of the other reviews wrote in. Mine is very sturdy and has a good weight to it. Details are impeccable and the entire piece is beautiful!

Gladius Scabbard Poorly Constructed
The scabbard was poorly constructed...the scabbard consists of two parts...connected by a decorative metal band...it is NOT securely attached...comes apart when simply holding it. This had to be noticed by whomever packaged it. Would not recommend purchasing this Gladius.
