Pretty hefty, clunky design, but the glasses give the user rose-colored vision, for certain.
I would have liked these glasses, a bit more, if they had more of a sleek and stylish design. The look felt as though it would have worked, back in the 70’s or 80’s, perhaps, but the make of the glasses is solid, despite all of that. One thing, though, the glasses don’t have good nose grips, for support, and I commonly had to fix the glasses’ positioning, on my face, as I was wearing them.

Soft Flexible Plastic, Full Eye Protection.
These cover your whole eye, the side shields absolutely work and are soft and ventilated and throw em on a leather or neoprene string and they can bounce around all day without a scratch. Wore them every day constructing fences and decking and not one scratch on the lenses yet. The Shields on the sides are not uncomfortable and give your eyes a throughout full protection from all angles.

Ace didymium classic safety glasses +
Phillips 202 Ace Didymium safety glasses are absolute classics. Anyone who has spent time around lampwork artists, taken a class or attended a conference, or even visited a forum, has seen glasses like these. I had a nearly identical pair around 20 years ago, but, have to say that I was a bit concerned when I saw th3e (short) description as "coated glass," particularly knowing that didymium glass is in short supply. These are the real thing. Unfortunately I am not currently set up to shoot over my shoulder or through the lens while I am working, but I tested these at the torch, and they are absolutely didymium glass. They eliminate sodium flare so that you can see what you are doing, and protect your eyes from the extremes of the spectrum, in the high heat of a propane and oxygen torch, and from the metals used to color glass. They are light weight, and fit well, and Phillips has added side shields to protect you from flying bits of glass (it happens). You could almost call this a kit. It comes with Ace didymium glasses with fold down side shields, a neck band/ glasses holder, and 2 protective cases, one soft (cinch sack) and a very sturdy semi-hardshell zipped case. {I remember my old ones coming with a small squeeze open case which I had to squeeze the glasses into, putting pressure on the hinges). This case is very good. It is large enough to easily fit any and every pair of lampwork glasses I have seen, and easily fits these, inside the soft case and with the strap. If offers good protection for you and for your glasses. I would love to say that this is all you need, but setting up a lampwork studio takes quite a bit of thought and effort, and your first concern should be safety. These offer the protection you need, at least for your eyes, and make it much easier to see what you are doing in the flame. The one proviso I have is that these do not work well for people who wear glasses. The side shields get in the way (but, can be removed with a small screwdriver). That said, they are well made. The side shields fold inward (as seen in the photo) for storage. The shade of the glass is a bit lighter than my fit-overs, which gave me concern until I used them. They work very well, no halos or flares which these do not block, and I was defintely ready for a new pair, since my old glasses have seen quite a bit of use and (unintentional) abuse.... that is, they have hit the floor many more times than they should have, I guess because I did not have a strap for them. That said, this is a complete kit, at least in terms of eye safety.

Great lampworking glasses
I recently purchased the Lampworking Glass Safety Glasses from Phillips and I have to say, I'm impressed! The 202 ACE Didymium lenses provide excellent protection from the harmful UV rays and the Model 70F Plastic Safety Frames are comfortable to wear for extended periods of time. The lenses are crystal clear and provide a clear view of my work. I've used these glasses for a few weeks now and I've noticed a significant decrease in eye fatigue and discomfort while working. The 5-star rating is well deserved. I would highly recommend these safety glasses to anyone who works with hot glass. They're durable, comfortable and provide the necessary protection for your eyes. Overall, I'm very satisfied with my purchase and I think these are the best safety glasses for the price.

A good gift for the glass blower in your life :)
We have a good friend who is a glass blower and this was a unique gift for her. I dont know a lot about them, but I can tell you that they are made of glass and have side shields built in. They also include a soft cloth case and a hard case. They would be great purchase for any glass workers.
