Easy to use, quality device.
Good results so far from this, my first sou vide machine. Persuaded to try the technique by a friend I managed to get this on a good sale. The clamp to hold this in place accommodates most pans or tubs and the unit itself feels well put together.Very simple to use, on screen menu with several basic recipes and more in an enclosed booklet. You can also fly solo with manual settings - that takes a bit more experimenting but you can create your own custom recipes which helps a lot.It even links to your phone via a local wifi connection, helps to keep an eye on timings and more in depth settings for the device.Very nicely presented, overall I’d say good value for money.

Good machine but useless app
It's good but seriously if you are specifically looking for one with WiFi then get a different one. The app is obviously trying to be a 'Jack of all trades' smart home app rather than anything designed specifically with this machine in mind.It requires you to make an account to use the WiFi features even though it should only be communicating over your local network to your phone, and there are several basic problems with the app which makes it a pain to use - things like:- You can't duplicate a custom recipe to make something similar- It keeps defaulting to farenheight when making a new recipe and it's not possible to change it unless the machine is connected (so forget planning a recipe in advance)The machine itself works great, it's just a shame the app lets it down tremendously.

Take your time to understand sous vide cooking...
I'm in new territory to sous vide and will probably get shot down for this, but have been cooking for around 40 years...I would say that there's quite a bit of bad info online with temps and times when first using this device, like sous vide steak at 63c for 1 to 3 hours... Don't do this as it will come out like a leather shoe... At this temp, you'll need around 24 hours for the desired result of butter... Cooking a gammon joint? A temp of at least 71c is needed, and I would say that anything less is dangerous, personally, and I would give a gammon joint around 8-12 hours, but this is me... However, after messing around with correct temps and times, I'm having much better results now and in the middle of making prosciutto cotto which has been sitting in a vacuum of brine (salt 10% of water ratio with bay leaves, cinnamon, nutmeg, juniper and fennel seeds) curing in fridge for 24 hours before adding to the sous vide at 72c, which prosciutto needs... The great thing with this machine is the temperature consistency to make this cured/cooked meat, and invaluable in itself for this alone... It can reach 90c, which is perfect for vegetables and it's whisper quiet... quite literally, set it and forget it... Soon going to experiment with other things like home made sausages etc. The machine seems to be holding up very well and feels very well made... I'm always a bit sceptical though about electronics and more of an analogue person, but time will tell... If you're looking to try sous vide cooking? then definitely buy it and go for it, but please be aware that there's a lot of info out there that will lead to poor results... Have fun!

Fantastic for cooking meats.
This is actually more powerful than my Anova precision cooker (and almost double the power of the Anova Nano) which makes it excellent value for money. It's quite small and compact for a sous vide cooker. Not bulky, so it stores easily and doesn't occupy a lot of space in a pot.Heats up water VERY quickly and stays consistent at the exact temperature (within about a degree off according to my temp readings) throughout the cooking process. Very similar to a slow cooker, but there are a lot more temperature options to play around with here. The interface is also pretty straightforward and user-friendly. Only takes a few minutes to connect to the app, and the settings are responsive regardless if I'm near the cooker or not.The device has a quiet background humming, but it's surprisingly not as loud as the Anova! Barely noticeable really. So far I've used it to cook chicken breasts, steak, and lobster, and everything came out so juicy and tender. And I love that I don't need to really do any cooking, I can just leave the device to do its magic and come back when it's ready. Would happily recommend.

Perfect 👌
It's great, really easy to use. I have cooked quite a lot with it, and considering buying another one as well. It makes cooking and entertaining so easy! Being able to use your phone also makes it super easy to manage when you aren't at home!
