The SE is my "cheap", second iPhone, used for travelling with a "local" SIM for a couple of months a year. And it needs protection on a budget. It is just too much hassle to swap SIMS at the airport and fight the phone "arguing" with you. I own an XR, so, technically, I can use an eSIM, but I'm not ready for that fight yet - hence "cheap" SE. This case is the business - solid edge protection and a clear back, it does not bulk out the phone. A glass screen protector and you are all set. (One day, I will bite the bullet and buy a "13" with dual physical SIM support.) (Want a second hand "perfect" SE anyone?)

Good durable case

TECHGEAR iPhone 5s Protective Case (black) - My reason for purchasing this phone case was as a last minute buy before my backpacking trip to Central America where I was sure to drop my phone regularly. The case was very cheap (£4.95 at the time) and arrived within 4 days of purchase. It is very thick (definitely not 'super slim'), offering excellent protection with a small lip surrounding the edge of the screen in case of a face down drop. The hard plastic part of the case makes the phone a little uncomfortable to hold, especially on the side with the volume buttons where there some of the corners feel a bit sharp. Speaker/microphone ports are well positioned however the silent/loud switch is a little hard to access. I was quite worried when the case arrived in two parts which would simply fall apart from each other (I expected some sort of adhesion) but when the case is placed on the phone they stay together no problem - although there is a little bit of lift in one of the corners where the two separate parts do not lie flush with each other, a bit annoying but not the end of the world. However the biggest problem I have with the product, and why I could only give it 3 stars, is how the hard plastic edges have turned from black to orange after only having the case for 2 weeks and how easily it scratches (see attached images). I didn't expect the case to have degraded so quickly but it was very cheap and if you don't mind your iPhone case looking quite dated after a few weeks this case will definitely do a great job at protecting your phone.

The cover is ok if yoy want to protect your phone from damage.Not to thick as I read in others reviews wich make me scare to buy it (but took the risk), neither is ultra slim but a good size for a 6S+.I keep my previous glass screen for extra safety under the screen protector comes on it and make look safer for me,did not affect fit the phone in the cover at all.Down side for me is the color of the case, not many opitions to choose but the most important is the phone be protected.

Easy to slip onto phone and stays on, fitting well. has well placed holes for charging, camera and mute switch. Power button on top and volume up and down buttons are covered by inserts. These don't impede their operation at all and are just covers to enable easier operation (and will also stop dirt and grime getting in). There's even a hole on the back to remind you that it's an Apple iphone.......soooper! Overall, at the price, a very simple but good piece of kit.

Had this nearly a year and it's still going strong. The back is slightly faded in places, but it is still structurally sound and very strong. It's kept my phone safe excellently, it's survived several drops from my hand onto hard concrete surfaces and my phone has come out unscathed. The only drawback is possible the volume buttons and power button, which are a bit stiff and hard to use, but you get used to them. Other than that, this is highly recommended and well worth it for the money!
