My son can solve a rubiks cube in under 2 minutes, so I ordered this speed cube to up his game and shave seconds off his time. After his first try right out of the box, he told me it didn't seem different than a regular cube (I tried it and agreed). So I grabbed the instructions and realized that the cube is ADJUSTABLE!On some of the faces, the middle tile can be removed to reveal a tiny screw that can be loosened to allow the level to glide faster during a turn. But beware, the screw is short-ish and will pop right out if you loosen too far.Once the screws were loosened, the levels definitely moved more smoothly and easily. My son enjoys solving it. We do not own any other speed cubes, so I cannot directly compare it, but it doesn't glide quite as fast as the ones you see world champion speed cubers usebon tv. For an 11 year old it does great.Construction seems solid enough and my son likes the shiny colors (he says they do not make it harder to solve).

This cube is awesome. It's a light plastic, but it feels good and has a metallic finish. The movements are super smooth and almost click into place. I'm a big fan of this one.

The colors don't match the picture. Silver, gold and colors I don't even recognize.

UPDATE: I would not recommend giving this cube to kids under 8-years-old. In my estimation, younger kids are incapable of NOT DROPPING this cube as it's smooth and slippery. The small, individual cube faces pop off and create choking hazards for even younger children.Gifted to my 5-year-old to get his love of speed cube lit. It's advertised for 8-year-olds plus.It's fast and when dropped, the pieces are easily attached back. Granted, he's only dropped it once.We are having some trouble with the colors though. All of the videos we watch online use primary colored 3x3 cubes and this seems to confuse him considering ours has metallic, electroplated (not stickers) colors.I will probably have to buy another one with simple, primary colors for him to learn on first.Comes with a display box and stand.Great cube!

This 3x3 puzzle cube looks pretty with its shiny metallic look. This cube turns very smoothly with pieces easily snapping into place using magnets. The cube is capable of corner cutting and is is quite responsive being loose enough to prevent catching, but not too loose. The packaging looks nice and serves as a display stand for a beautiful. The yellow and orange colors are a bit difficult to distinguish when solving. Also, I can hear and feel one of the springs inside when turning one section which is another downside. Overall, I prefer this cube as a display piece, but it performs quite well. Highly recommend this more so for decoration, but it turns surprisingly well!

Our son is fascinated by Rubix cubes. This speed cube is a great middle ground between the traditional cube and a little simpler version for him.The best feature with this cube is the feel: you could go your whole life without solving the puzzle and still enjoy messing with this thing. The weight and texture and ease of movement make it incredibly satisfying to use. Our son is very tactile and plays with this cube more than the other ones in his collection just because he likes the way this one feels.It’s held up to all of us trying our best to solve the puzzle. The colors are lovely. The packaging was super sturdy and made for an exciting presentation to our little dude.This is a great place to start on your cube-puzzle journey. It also makes a great fidget/stress-reliever for your workspace!
