GREAT MAGNIFIER
Great magnifier. Got it to enlarge the small details of a picture that I am painting on a large canvas. The light is bright but not blinding. The legs are a bit flimsy, but the magnifier stands up firm. It is doing its job.The light reflection is from a lamp hanging from my ceiling and is not from the magnifier. Happy with my purchase. Enlarge the picture and see the kind of details I am talking about.

Lightweight, but may not be sturdy
This seems to work - I really got it for someone else, but I tested it. It seems bright enough and the light is well distributed. The legs are quite flimsy, and the cord to use around one's neck is also very thin. I worry about how long it will last.I also think it is annoying that it doesn't come with a wall plug, for 120VAC to 5 VDC. It includes the cord, butone has to supply one's own wall plug.I would rather pay $40 for a more robust light, with a wall plug and a longer cord. I needed an extension cord to use it plugged in.

Full-Page LED Lighted Magnifier
This magnifier came packaged in a thin box with professional-looking color labeling on all sides. It was wrapped in bubble wrap inside its box, with its legs folded flat. Accessories included were a short power cable (with a round plug on one end, and a USB A plug on the other end), a microfiber cleaning cloth, and a magnifying bookmark in a clear plastic sleeve. The magnifier's folding legs are slender but stable; they click into position at several points as you fold them in or out. I recommend using two hands, one on each side of a pair of legs, when folding/unfolding them.It comes with an attached thin string intended for supporting the lightweight magnifier around your neck if you wanted to use it without unfolding the legs. I wish the string were detachable or retractable for when you don't want to use it that way, but it isn't, so I kind of gathered it up with a twistie-tie.The built-in LED lights work well. There is a 3-position switch, for 2 levels of brightness; 'off' is the middle position. It magnifies by using a Fresnel lens. (Explanation from elsewhere: "Fresnel Lenses are plastic flat sheet magnifiers scientifically etched with concentric lines to allow them magnify and concentrate light.") The magnification factor does seem to be overstated, as seems to be common with many magnifying products; I estimated about 1.5x rather than the claimed 3x.

Big help on mini manuals..
Got it to use on very small print manuals that couldn't even read with glasses. Made a huge difference.

It uses batteries and also can be charged with the cord that comes with it!
I love my magnifier so much I bought my daughter one two. We both like to do close up needle point work and this work’s wonderful for it!
