It’s a mammoth listen but well worth it!!
Yes there’s a lot to get through and a few tracks that will have you pressing skip but across three discs I can cope with that. There are more ideas on this 1st volume than most bands have in a career. It doesn’t sit very well as a cohesive album. You’re getting tracks from every aspect of Andy’s recording career so we go from post punk to acoustic ditties to keyboard led tracks and amazing Weezer like power pop. Some lovely beatleesque tracks hidden away too which are truly fantastic. If you’re a fan of XTC or Andy P in general, snap up all three volumes of Fuzzy Warbles......don’t start your collection here though.

Fuzzy Warbles 1- "9"....invest in one of England's finest and unique musical talents
Delighted to see these albums finally get a decent bit of over due distribution. Andy and the XTC boys are an absolute treasure. Really worth picking up Andy's book "Complicated Game" as an accompaniment to the musical repository.Of course I would also strongly recommend the purchase of the complete XTC and Dukes of Stratosphere back catalog too while you're at it.Now all we need is the world tour :) (or at least a trip over to Ireland)

Rather patchy
Rather patchy. There are some excellent songs proving what a musical talent AP is. However, there are quite a few indifferent songs and some which are clearly demo-only which I won't be listening to again. I think this really is for Andy Partridge fans only. Personally, I would have preferred a single CD 'Best of Fuzzy Warbles'. Maybe my error in not reading enough about it first.

The man/mind behind XTC opens the vault!
Treasures from the archives of Andy Partridge. Demos, alternate takes and a lot more. Must have!

An extraordinary songwriters legacy!
Fantastic songcollection! A must-have for all XTC-fans. An amazing output from mr Partridge, with a little help from his friends!

X-tatic immersion likely.
I have owned and loved the complete collection of Fuzzy Warbles since its original release.A thing of great and lasting wonder! Now there is very reasonably-priced re-release, and if you are tempted to dip your toe in, this is the best volume to get, IMHO.Though you will probably find, once the toe is in, total and ecstatic immersion soon follows! The long, dreamy (yet pleasingly noisy) version of Summer's Cauldron here is worth more than the price of admission it itself. And much of the rest is almost as good, musically / lyrically speaking.Plus: funny bits!!
