Ambrette Seed Pure Oil 5ml (0.17 fl.ozs)

I absolutely adore Ambrette...It's difficult to find, and most books written for modern would be artisan perfumers and hobbyists will recommend you can buy synthetic musks which can be used...But there's a richness and complexity to real ambrette which is a whole rainbow spanning from light musk, sweet woods and landing in a fruity floral area.It's a complete perfume in itself.For an organic unisex cologne!- I recommend mixing a blend with neroli, sandalwood and grapefruit. (Light on the neroli and sandalwood)This will give you a delicious, long lasting perfume which like the day itself starts off, zesty and energising... by afternoon/evening lingers as a warm, silky light wood musk!

It's been a while since I made any essential oil based perfumes and my favourite essential/seed oil is even harder to find than it was then. I took a chance with this and though it smelled a bit weird I decided to stick with it. It has a cloying, chemical smell that irritated my nose and actually made me feel a little ill. I thought I'd see how it mixed with the other essential oils I normally use and at first it seemed fine. A little powerful but I hoped it'd calm down after a few days of being left to mix. It didn't, and overwhelmed the other oils to the point I've had to throw it all away.

I use this to liven up perfume's that I make, its great, a real authentic musky scent, not to be confused with 'musk' fragrance oil, which smells weak by comparison.
